I am writing to express my strong interest in applying for the Quantum Computing for

Gifted Students Course. My name is King Leung, and I am currently enrolled in the Dual
Program Physics Level One at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
(HKUST).
As part of my academic pursuits, I have been actively engaged in physics and mathematics courses,
which have significantly broadened my understanding of these subjects. I have also taken a
screening test for the course. This has given me the confidence to apply for the Quantum
Computing Course, which I believe will be a great opportunity for me to further develop my skills.
Moreover, I have developed a keen interest in computer programming, and I have been actively
involved in learning programming languages such as assembly. I am also proficient in Computer
Science, for example logic gates and circuits. I have also created electronic circuit consisted of logic
gates to perform calculations such as the square root in the game MineCraft. I believe that my
knowledge of programming will be invaluable in the field of quantum computing.
I am also an avid learner of mathematics, and I will be joining the Pearson Edexcel International
Advanced Level (IAL) Further Pure Maths, Mechanics, and Statistics next month. I am confident
that this program will deepen my knowledge of mathematics and further prepare me for the
Quantum Computing Course.
I am excited about the opportunity to take part in the Quantum Computer Course, as I believe it will
be a great opportunity for me to further develop my skills and contribute to the ever-evolving field
of quantum computing. I am confident that my passion for mathematics, physics, and programming
will enable me to excel in the course.
