Program Overview
The UBC JD/MBA will equip you with the tools to understand law
from the perspective of a businessperson, and to understand business
from the perspective of a lawyer. By gaining expertise in all angles of
law, business and management, you will be ready to succeed in global
economies where the ability to navigate the complexities of law and
business is key.
Experiential Learning
The UBC JD/MBA places great emphasis on practical experience
through hands-on learning. The JD component includes clinic
programs where you’ll engage directly with members of the
legal profession and real-world clients. You’ll also develop critical
professional skills such as interview techniques, evidence analysis
and advocating for clients before courts.
When you pursue a UBC JD/MBA, your network expands globally. By
tapping into two networks of experienced professionals, the JD/MBA
opens up a world of opportunities.

MBA Global Consulting
In the MBA component of the program, you’ll embark on the Global
Immersion Experience (GIE) where you’ll participate in international
consulting projects and travel to another part of the world to help
organizations solve real business challenges.
Over two different summer terms, you will complete an MBA
experiential learning opportunity (a summer internship,
entrepreneurial project or industry project), and your summer
articling program. Plus, you can go on an international exchange
at one of UBC Sauder’s or Allard Law’s partner institutions around
the world.
Professional Growth – Accelerated
Before and after graduation, UBC JD/MBA students benefit from the
full support of the Career Services Office at the Allard School of Law,

To be admitted to the UBC JD/MBA Program, applicants
must meet the admission requirements and deadlines for Canadian citizens and permanent residents:
both the JD and MBA programs and submit two separate - $13,680.40 CAD* for 1st year

Our admissions process
The selection process at UBC Sauder’s Robert H. Lee Graduate School is rigorous. We carefully
select applicants to ensure you learn from faculty, staff, and peers who demonstrate vision,
leadership, and experience.

Step 1 Review program-specific admissions requirements at www.sauder.ubc.ca. Please note,

requirements will differ for each program.*

Step 2 Create an account and start your application at www.sauder.ubc.ca/apply.

Step 3 Submit your supporting documents. Applications are reviewed by the admissions team once we
receive your complete application. If you submit unofficial documents at the time of application, official
documents must be received by the Admissions Office no later than the final document deadline.
Depending on the program of your choice, a complete application may include (but is not limited to):
• Transcripts/degree certificates/translation
• Letters of reference (electronic reference)
• GMAT/GRE scores (waivers are available)
• English proficiency exam results
• Video/written essays

Step 4 The applicants considered for admission will be contacted by the Robert H. Lee Graduate School for an
interview (if applicable) either in-person or by video call.

Step 5 If successful, you will receive a letter of admission from the Robert H. Lee Graduate School.
Accept your offer and pay the deposit.**

Step 6 Connect with our team, get to know your cohort, and prepare to join the class!

*To be eligible for the B+MM Dual Degree, you must be accepted into your UBC Bachelor’s degree of choice. If you are applying to the JD+MBA Dual Degree
program, you must apply to both programs, unless you are a current JD student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law.
**A deposit is required for admission to all UBC Sauder programs except the B+MM Dual Degree (a deposit will be required by the Undergraduate
Admissions Office).
