Geometry

1. Let ABCD be a cyclic quadrilateral and let A0 , B 0 , C 0 and D0 denote the

incentres of the triangles BCD, CDA, DAB and ABC, respectively.
Prove that A0 B 0 C 0 D0 is a rectangle.
2. Let M N be a diameter in the circumcircle of triangle ABC.
a) Prove that the Simpson’s lines of the points M and N with respect
to 4ABC are perpendicular on each other.
b) Prove that the intersection of the Simpson’s lines above lies on
the 9-point circle∗ of 4ABC.

The 9-point circle of a triangle is the circle passing through the mid-
points of the sides of the triangle, as well as the feet of the altitudes
and the midpoints of the segments connecting the orthocentre with the
feet of the altitudes.
3. Let H denote the orthocentre of 4ABC, let A1 , B1 , C1 denote the re-
flections of the point H through the lines BC, CA and AB respectively.
Let P be a point on the circumcircle of 4ABC and let A2 , B2 , C2 de-
note the reflections of the point P through the lines BC, CA and AB
respectively.
a) Prove that the lines A1 A2 , B1 B2 , C1 C2 and the circumcircles of
4ABC, of 4AB2 C2 , of 4A2 BC2 and of 4A2 B2 C all intersect at
a point T .
b) Let d denote a line passing through the point P and let A0 B 0 C 0
denote the triangle formed by the reflections of the line d through
the lines BC, CA and AB respectively. Prove that T is also on
the circumcircle of 4A0 B 0 C 0 .
