III. LEARNING PROCEDURE
ENGAGE Begin by asking the students if they have ever attended or heard of a religious
festival. Ask them to share their experiences or knowledge about these events.

EXPLORE Introduce the students to the different religious festivals in the Philippines,
such as:
 Sinulog Festival
 Ati-Atihan Festival
 Feast of the Black Nazarene
 Flores de Mayo
 Feast of Our Lady of Penafrancia
 Feast of Santo Niño
 Holy Week
Provide pictures or videos of each festival and have the students identify the
features that make them unique.

EXPLAIN After exploring the different festivals, provide a brief explanation of the
significance and cultural traditions associated with each festival. Discuss the
religious and historical background, as well as the customs and practices that
are commonly observed during the celebration of each festival.

ELABORATE Divide the class into small groups and assign each group a festival to research
in-depth. Have the students use various sources such as books, websites, and
interviews to gather information about their assigned festival. Instruct them to
create a poster or a chart that summarizes their findings, including the
background, significance, and cultural practices of the festival. After
completing the posters, have each group present their findings to the class.
IV. EVALUATION
Administer a quiz to evaluate the students' understanding of the topic. The quiz may include multiple-
choice, true or false, and short answer questions about the different religious festivals and their cultural
practices.

V. LEARNING AGREEMENT
As an extension activity, have the students conduct further research on one of the festivals they found
most interesting. Instruct them to write a reflection paper or a short essay discussing the significance of
the festival and its impact on Philippine culture and society. Alternatively, they can create a presentation
or a video that showcases the festival's traditions and practices.
