1. Introduction

Chapter 1- Introduction

1.1 Introduction:

The Project Automatic Car Parking System. The project is designed for car
parking. The aim of this project is to atomize the car park for allowing the
cars into the park. LCD is provided to display the information about the
total number of cars that can be parked and the place free for parking.
Two sensors are used in this project to identify the entry or exit of the
cars into out of park. These two sensors are arranged either side of the
gate. Whenever the mains are switched on, the LCD displays the message
parking space for 10 vehicles". The number indicates the maximum
capacity of park in this project. Whenever a car comes in front of the gate,
the IR signal gets disturbed and the controller will open the gate by
rotating the stepper motor. The gate will be closed only after the car
leaves the second sensor pair since the controller should know whether
the car left the gate or not. Now the controller decrements the value of
the count and displays it on LCD. In this way, the controller decrements
the count whenever the car leaves the park and displays it on LCD. If the
count reaches0, i e. if the park is completely filled, the controller will
display NO SPACE FOR PARKING" on LCD. And now if any vehicle tries to
enter the park, the gate will not be opened since there is no space. If any
vehicle leaves the park, the controller will increment the count and allows
the other vehicles for parking..

Chapter 2- Empathy Mapping

FIG. 2.1 AEIOU Observation

2.1 Observation through AEIOU and other methods:

Understanding the problem of socitey it is one of the biggest challenges for engineering student as till now we
were making projects on imaginary ideas. So the first session was based on understanding the domain of the
problem in broader sense with emphasized on interacting with the people of our domain area which includes more
of casual talks than technical section. We were mostly observing what are the major of the basic problems of
the peoples in our domain.
The area our domain was steering system ,as we know there are number of peoples are present for their
different purpose or reasons or duties all of them are from different backgrounds and have to perform different
functions or utilize the space in different way. As in our first Canvas of activities we have observed the following
activities

In this stage, we find the various users which are directly or indirectly related to our project.
for example: Shopping malls, Multiplex, Hospitals, Residential Purpose, Educational
Area, Religious Area

Activities ofusers:
Remotee site Monitering
Control & Electrical
Automatic Adjust the Vechicles wheel base

Environment:
Noice Control
Poluction Control
Rode side parking

Interactions:
Regular Workers
Customers
Businessmen
Shopkeeper

Objects:
Transportation Vechicles
Light Weight Vechicles

Users:
Shopkeeper
Visitors
Customers
Businessmen
2.2 Mind mapping:
Then we had used coggle for our mind mapping. It provides a great platform
to make a mind map which can be used for easy analysis .The snapshot of
our coggle sheet is below.

Stakeholder:
Government groups
parking industries
Story boarding:

HAPPY

-Jay is going hospitalin an emergancy & he will park his car at the
automatic parking so he will save his time & safely park his car.

HAPPY

-Achal is going to watch movie & park his car in automatic car parking
so he will save his time & save his money.

SAD

-One day bony is going for some shopping & he want to park his car
safely but parking space is not available at that area. So bony park his
car on footpath & police toing vehicle tow his car & fine to his.

SAD

-When there is no parking space available in any area then the trafic was
generated & everybody stuck in traffic.

6. Conclusion

Conclusion:
It is apparent that the demand for the smart car parking system will
continue to increase in the upcoming years. Though the smart parking
system already exists, our project is aimed at making the system more
cost effective and user friendly thus increasing its adoption in the
market. The project was successful & cost effective, user-friendly
and had 90% accuracy. Future works will extend the system to
administer 200 parking lots and incorporate other different
technologies such as interlink with smart phones and GPS system to
increase its dependability.
