1.Purpose: This method statement describes the process involves in PEB

structure (Unloading, loading, stacking of Materials, Erection of structure, Roof
sheet and Wall cladding) for building in the SLMG project.

2.Scope:
 Unloading and loading of PEB structure.
 Stacking and Shifting of PEB material.
 Structure Erection (Column, Rafter, Girts, Purlin, Sag rods, Bracings,
Crane Beam).
 Roof Sheet fixing with all accessories.
 Wall sheet fixing with all accessories.

5. RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Site engineer – He is responsible for the execution of the work in safe

manner as per method statement. He should guide the supervisor and the
workmen regarding the execution of the work.

2. HSE –He shall be responsible for assisting to Engineer / Supervisor to

ensure the safety of workmen during the progress of work. Tool box talks
shall be carried out before start the work. General safety awareness as

well as particular safety precaution and guideline for the activity to be

carried out in that particular shift shall be discussed

3. Store officer –
Provide only good/working condition tools and tackles to workmen and
Keeping all records.

7. Procedure:
7.1 For Unloading and Loading: -
 All Necessary documents to be provided for all machineries.
 Before starting the work, work permit will be approved.
 Tool Box Talk (TBT) will be conducted to workers & operators before
starting the work.
 Lifting tools and tackles free from any defect and having valid TPI
certification from competent person.
 Ground will have checked for flatness and compactness (clearance taken
by civil agencies) before positioning of the F-15/Hydra/Crane and trailer.
 First of all, the trailer will be well positioned near to pre-decided unloading
area location.
 Work area to be barricade to prevent any authorized entry.
 Rigger will put web sling/wire sling to the PEB member and hook of
F15/Hydra/Crane and tied tag line both end of structure. Task supervisor
will make sure that sling is adequate according to load.
 Now rigger will give signal to the Crane /Hydra/F15 operator and will
make sure to unload it safely.
 Task supervisor will make sure that nobody will be there nearby to the
suspended weight.
 PEB member will be placed in proper manner on wooden slippers. Now
rigger will put off the slings.
 Height of materials shall not be more than 1.8 meters.
 Same procedure will continue till unload the vehicle.
 After unloading material area shall be barricade.

 Small material shall be unloaded manually.

 Ensure that co-ordination should done between co-worker before manually
material.
 As required worker will have deployed for manual unloading.
 Work area must be checked before shifting of material.
 Access should be checked before material shifting.
 Tag line must be tied both end of material for controlling of load during
shifting of material from point A to point B.
7.2 Erection of Structure: -
 All Necessary documents to be provided for all machineries.
 Before starting the work, work permit will be approved.
 Tool Box Talk (TBT) will be conducted to workers & operators before
starting the work.
 Lifting tools and tackles free from any defect and having valid TPI
certification from competent person.
 Ground will have checked for flatness and compactness (Clearance taken
form civil agencies) before positioning of the f-15/crane.
 Work area to be barricade to prevent any unauthorized entry.
 F-15/ Crane will be well positioned near to erection area.
 Column erection will start from brace bay.
 Rigger will put web sling/wire sling to column and hook and make sure
that proper packing must be provided. Task supervisor will make sure that
sling is adequate according to load and length.
 Adequate guy rope will have tied with column for structure stability.
 Guy rope must be tied with anchor bolt pedestal or with peg angle.
 Tagline will be tied to the PEB member bottom prior to lift (for
controlling).
 Now Rigger/Signalman will give signal to the Crane operator.
 Now taken the member position from horizontal to vertical and position on
anchor bolt.
 At bottom of anchor bolt as required persons will be deployed for
tightening.

 After tightening of the member nut and bolt, two persons reached at top
of the member with FBSH by Rope ladder/Man Basket for D-slinging
 Continue the same procedure for next column erection.
 Task supervisor will make sure that nobody will be there nearby to the
suspended weight.
 After erection of 2 nos of column bracing (by F-15/ Crane) and girts will
be fix with help of pp rope and rope pulley.
 Rope pulley will fix at top of both columns with web sling, PP rope or D-
shackle or with wire rope with U clamp.
 Rope ladder/man basket will be used for approaching at height.
 Ensure that all lifting tools tackles should be inspect.
 Both ends girt will tied with pp rope and hook and 2 people will pull the
rope as girts will reach at position and nut bolting will be done.
 After fixing of all girts next column will erect and fix the girts, same
procedure will follow for column and girts erection.
 Only authorized operator shall be will operate the equipment.
 F-15/Crane will check as per checklist on periodically.
 As per planned of erection rafter/structure will assemble.
 First part of rafter/beam will keep on wooden packing at near erection
area.
 Second part mark of rafter/beam will join together with help of f-15.
 Same procedure will apply for next joint.
 All nut bolt should be tight using torqueing method or 1/3 rd method.
 Nut bolt tightening will have done at one side.
 After completion of one side tightening rafter will move another side for
balance nut bolt tightening.
 Same procedure will follow for next assembly.
 Work area must be checked for ground compaction and level (Clearance
taken from civil agencies) before f-15/crane positioning.
 If required two f-15 will use for lifting of rafter/beam as per length and
weight of rafter.
 Make sure life line should be fixed before lifting of rafter.

 Rigger will put wire rope to rafter and crane hook. Make sure that proper
packing must be provided.
 First of all, Intermediate and Side wall column should be erected before
lifting of rafter.
 Make sure all temporary guy rope arrangement should be done before
lifting.
 Task supervisor will make sure that sling is adequate according to load
and length.
 Rigger/Signalman will give signal to the f-15/crane operator.
 Lift the rafter slowly at one-meter height and check the undulation and lift
the rafter slowly at top of column.
 Task supervisor must be present during lifting activity.
 Tag line must be tied at all corners of rafter to ensure proper controlling of
load.
 Ensure that no body stand under suspended load.
 When the rafter reaches at required height, 2-3 persons will reach by rope
ladder/man basket to ensure bolting of adequate sizes (as per drawing)
between rafter & Column.
 Make sure all connection bolts should to be tightened as per torque

requirement.

 After connection of all joints, person will sit on rafter and anchor to FBSH
with fixed life line pp rope for fixing of purlin.
 Purlin will lift by manually with help of rope pulley or lift by f-15/crane.
 After support of structure sling will remove from rafter.
 Same procedure will be followed for next erection of rafter.
 Sag rod/Lateral Bracing will fix with help of sag rod platform.
7.3 ROOF SHEET INSTALLATION: -
 Scaffolding will use as roof access for ascending and descending at roof.
 Ensure that proper support shall provide to roof access.
 Before starting of roof sheet safety net/bird mesh will tie below of
structure from starting of 2 bays.
 Insulation/ Bird Mesh will shift by rope pulley.

 On every 5 mtr distance on rafter,P.P. Rope will be tied from rafter to

ground in inclination with 50-70-degree angle.
 5-6 persons will stand on an equal distance interval on the top flange of
rafter for roof sheet lifting purpose and their harness will be tied with life
line rope.
 On ground 3-4 person will bring the roofing panels from stock bundle to
the clamped P.P. Rope from rafter.
 Another P. P. Rope whose one end will be on the hands of those persons
who are available for pulling the roofing panel and other end will be tied
with roofing panels which is planned to lift.
 The persons who are standing on the rafter will pull the roofing panel now.
 First two row sheets will lay on roof without insulation as a working
platform for further sheet will lay down as per drawing.
 Life line will be tied at ridge point and at gutter side and tied with rigid
structure.
 One by one sheet will lift and fix as per drawing and specification.
 Ensure that below works area must be barricaded and unauthorized
person not allowed.
 Sky light and roof monitor sheet will be fixed as per drawing.
 Sky light sheet will be fixed with parallel of roof sheet or it will fix after
roof sheet completion
 Same procedure followed for all roof sheet Installation.

7.4 Wall Sheet Installation: -

 Work area must be checked for ground compaction and level before
positioning of mobile scaffolding/man basket.
 Ensure that work area must be barricaded and unauthorized person not
allowed.
 Sheet Bundle will be shifted by f-15 or manually near the work area.
 Provision of pp ropes will be used for lifting the wall sheets.
 Insulation will fix as per drawing.
 Rope pulley will tie with eave strut for lifting of sheet.
 Required nos. of person will deploy for lifting of sheet.
 One person will be stand on rafter and anchored safety harness with life
line, for holding the wall sheet.

 After placing of sheet at location, screwing will be done.

 Supervisor will make sure that nobody will be there under or nearby to
the suspended weight.
 Full body harness anchoring with scaffolding.
 Louvers and small sheet will lift at place on the location as per drawing.
 If required, sheet will cut for louvers fixing.
 Same procedure followed for all wall sheet Installation.
 Once wall cladding has done gutter & down take pipe fixing work will
start.
 Gutter/Velley will assemble on ground in 12 running mtr length.
 After assembly of gutter one by one gutter will fix to eave/Canopy with all
accessories from top of roof.
 As required no’s of person deployed for fixing of gutter.
 Life line will provide on roof top and ensure that 100% anchorage of
safety harness.
 After lifting of gutter/valley rest will joint from roof.
 Rain water pipe will assemble on ground and will lift from top of roof and
fix as per drawing.
 18 mm pp rope will use for lifting of rain water pipe.
 As required no’s of person deployed on roof for lifting of rain water pipe.
 After fixing of rain water pipe all accessories will fix as per drawing.

8. EHS:
 Check unloading area & proper access for vehicle movements.

 Only authorized operator should operate the F-15/Crane.

 Rigger to be provided to guide vehicle & F-15/Crane operator.

 Adequate PPE should be used.

 Scaffolding (Roof Access) should erect on flat ground.

 Proper support will be provided to scaffolding.
 Proper coordination will be in between co-workers for lifting/shifting
during erection and sheeting work.
 Space management for free movement and housekeeping.
 Provision of ELCB 30 mA will be in place for all electrical connections.

 Adequate PPEs i.e. Safety helmet, safety shoes, reflective jacket, Full
body Harness, safety goggle & hand gloves
 Work will be carried out under proper supervision and approved Permit to
Work.
 Life line should be tied as required.
