Statistical Treatment of Data

Statistical treatment in a study is a way of removing researcher bias by

interpreting the data statistically rather than subjectively. Giving a thesis statistical treatment

also ensures that all necessary data has been collected. Data analysis will be done through

understanding of responses from the participants. This means that the analysis is done from the

data gathered as reflected and answered by participants on the survey forms alone and not

from any non-reliable theoretical sources and basis.

The following statistical tools will be used to ensure the valid interpretation of

data:

Frequency count will be used to determine the overall count of demographic profile of

the participants.

Percentage will be used to calculate the overall frequency count of demographic profile

of the participants.

Weighted mean will be used to determine the level of work values and the level of

career adaptability of the participants.

Chi-Square will be used to determine the relationship of demographic profile of the

respondents and their practices in managing client during end-of-life stage.

Significance difference between the demographic profile of the respondents and their

practices in managing client during end-of-life stage in terms of:

a. Age

Chi-Square Tests
Asymptotic
Significance
Value df (2-sided)

Pearson Chi-Square 6.077 2 .048
Likelihood Ratio 7.767 2 .021
Linear-by-Linear .320 1 .572
Association
N of Valid Cases 60

Based on the given data, Table 14, there is a significant relationship between the

demographic profile and their practices in managing client during end-of-life stage in terms of

their age, since the p-value of 0.048 is less than the significance level of 0.05.

b. Sex

Association
N of Valid Cases 216

On Table 15, there is a significant relationship between the demographic profile their

practices in managing client during end-of-life stage in terms of their sex, since the p-value of

0.005 is less than the significance level of 0.05.

c. Marital Status

Association
N of Valid Cases 216

Table 16 indicates that there is a significant relationship between the demographic

profile and their practices in managing client during end-of-life stage in terms of their marital

status, since the p-value of 0.001 is less than the significance level of 0.05.

d. Religion

Association
N of Valid Cases 216

Table 17 indicates there is a significant relationship between the demographic profile

and their practices in managing client during end-of-life stage in terms of their religion, since the

p-value of 0.029 is less than the significance level of 0.05.

e. Area of Assignment

Association
N of Valid Cases 216
Table 18 shows that there is a significant relationship between the demographic profile

and their practices in managing client during end-of-life stage in terms of their area of

assignment, since the p-value of 0.000 is less than the significance level of 0.05.
