INTRODUCTION:
“WHEN WE TAKE AWAY, IT MEANS WE ARE SUBTRACTING.”
“AN ADDING OF TWO OR MORE NUMBERS TO GET A NUMBER IS CALLED THE SUM.”

OBJECTIVES:
• Parents should ask their kids to represent addition and subtraction with objects and actions
to understand the concepts of adding to and taking from or taking away concept.
• Parents must discuss about “take away” concept to solve subtraction sums in refer to the
mentioned page on weekly plan.
• Kids will get an idea about crossing out the number of items shown.
• Enable the kids to follow directions properly and focus on the things that are left after
crossed ones.
• Enable the kids to follow directions properly so they can solve properly to add things up.
Example: (Horizontal sums)
10 - 5 means to take away or cross 5 objects. The result will be 5.

“Adding or joining something to something else, typically to make it larger:” Addition of
small numbers can be done using your fingers too.
