Data Sheet:

Wonders, the ELA curriculum, uses 4 colors to identify the 4 groups student are in base on the
pretest and post test.
If a student scores a 60% or lower they are in the Tier 2 group. I color code the Tier 2 group in
RED on the data sheet. Students who score a 61%-79% are the approaching level, which I color
code YELLOW on the data sheet. Students who score a 81%-93% are On Level, which I color
code BLUE on the data sheet. Finally, Students who score a 94% or beyond are on the Beyond
Level, which I color code GREEn on the data sheet.

The data sheet has 9 sheets.

1. MAPS data
2. Writing data
3. Unit 1
4. Unit 2
5. Unit 3
6. Unit 4
7. Unit 5
8. Unit 6
9. Unit 7
Data from unit 1, will only go on the sheet labeled “Unit 1”. This applies to all 6 units. MAPS
scores from the fall and the screen will go on the MAPS sheet. Writing data will go on the writing
data to maintain organized data and information.

Pretest:
Each week, students take a pretest before I teach them anything. This helps me make data
driven decisions about what I need to teach for the week. I use the data from the pretest results
to group students into 2 groups: group 1: students who scored a 60% or lower, and group 2;
students who scored a 61% or higher. If students are in group 1, they will complete a worksheet
to reteach the material to them. This will support their learning as they will have extra practice
and instruction. Group 2 will complete a different worksheet where it challenges the students on
the topic. Students will apply the information.

Check Point
As I teach the material to the students throughout the week, I do at least 2 checkpoints as a
formative assessment. These checkpoints allow me to check for student understanding and
student growth. I will use the data from the checkpoints to make data driven decisions on how to
move forward with the lesson.

Post Test:
At the end of the week, students complete the post test. The post test will show me what the
students learned and their growth on the material. I use the data to see which students
improved. Students are allowed to take retakes for the post and it is a grade that goes into the
gradebook.
