The assessment is likely to include at least one question on each of the following drugs or drug groups:
✓ Antibiotics – learn common prophylaxis and therapy in chapter 5’s first 10 pages
✓ Anticoagulants – Learn DOACs in more detail
✓ antihypertensives
✓ Chemotherapy – vinca alkaloids
✓ Insulins – learn brand names plus how to administer
✓ antidiabetic drugs
✓ drugs with a narrow therapeutic index
✓ non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
✓ Methotrexate – know this inside out!!
✓ opiates
✓ parenteral drugs
✓ Valproate – know this inside out!!!

HINTS AND TIPS
 Complete GPHC exam sample paper on GPHC website.
 Have your GPHC approved calculator.
 Go over basic rounding skills at least once before exam.
 Do a recommended past paper every day until exam day.
 Remember to set time targets during the assessment as
well.
