Bawat Isa Mahalaga (B1M) is a movement of citizens and groups

of citizens, whose mission is to pursue transformation of the

Filipino nation.

It believes transformation will take place if more Filipinos will

think and act on the basis of their biblical identity as having been
each “created in the image of God” and will earnestly exercise their
constitutional authority as the Sovereign Filipino People in order
to establish a “just and humane society” (Preamble, Constitution).

Its transformation roadmap, among other goals, intends to sharpen

citizen participation in governance and promote genuine public
service and accountability, thus bringing about greater flourishing
of the Filipino people.

We are Christian nation,
but why are we so corrupt?
The country has been blessed with over 500
years of Christian heritage. Over 80% of Filipinos
claim to be Christian. The Bible is available to
every Filipino in all the major languages.
Yet, the Philippines is listed among the most
corrupt countries in the world by all major
international monitoring groups. Even the Office
of the Ombudsman admitted in 2019 that as
much as 20% of public funds are lost to
corruption every year.
The Problem: Structural Evil
Structural evil arises from structures within
human society. Behind these structures are
Powers and Principalities, the spiritual essence
of institutions.
When these Powers becomes idolatrous, placing
themselves above God's purposes for the good,
then those Power becomes demonic.
Efforts to reform institutions will have little
effect unless demonic spirits behind structures
are addressed.
How Public Servants are
Corrupted by the System
Under the influence of Powers and Principalities
in evil structures, government officials use their
positions for personal gain. They extract
kickbacks from public contracts. They solicit
bribes in exchange for favors.
They pressure their subordinates to violate their
oaths of office and commit illegal acts to
implement their wicked schemes. They persecute
subordinates who refuse to cooperate and silence
those who oppose them.
The result: injustice for the poor, compromised
public services and substandard infrastructure.
A Call to Pray for the Nation
Jesus the Lord of the nations. He desires that the
the Filipino people, our Philippine territory and
the government submit to His lordship.
He taught us to pray for God’s kingdom and
righteous rule to come, and for His will to be
done on earth, in the country as it is in heaven.
This is a call for His followers to pray against
powers and principalities behind evil structures
to usher in the healing of the nation.
A Prayer Movement for
National Transformation
Transformation involves calling the spirits of
institutions to return to their divine purposes,
and for corrupt public servants to repent from
their evil ways. This also involves praying for
upright public servants to serve as salt and light
in government.
Buklod Panalangin aims to have prayer groups
in every community and in every government
office praying for national transformation.
