SPECIMEN : SERUM
TEST(s) RESULT(s) CUT- OFF VALUE
Coronavirus Antibody (SARS-CoV-2) Non-Reactive Cutoff rate: 1.0
Patient Rate: 0.070
NOTE:
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) Antibody test to be considered "Reactive" if patient rate is
equal to or greater than cutoff rate.
COMMENTS:
Coronavirus Antibody Test (SARS-CoV-2) is a Electrochemiluminescence immunoassay (ECLIA) for the qualitative detection of
IgM, IgA and/or IgG antibodies (which appear in late or convalescent phase of infection).
A Non-Reactive result does not completely rule out the possibility of an infection with SARS-CoV-2. Serum samples from the
very early (pre-seroconversion) phase can yield negative findings. Therefore, this test cannot be used to diagnose an acute
infection. Also, over time, antibody titers may decline and eventually become Non- Reactive.
METHOD:
Test is performed on Cobas e 411 instrument employing Electrochemiluminescence immunoassay (ECLIA).
