In the future, it seems more difficult to live on the earth.

Some people think more money should be

spent on researching other planets, such as Mars. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this
statement?

Nowadays, many people consider the earth unsafe to live on, so a large amount of money should be
allocated for searching for new land, such as Mars. In this regard, While I am of the opinion that due to
the increasing environmental pollution and booming population, life on the earth can be
difficult, however, I think people should make joint efforts to tackle the ongoing problems rather than
investing money on space exploration.

On the one hand, there are some perennial problems on the earth making people’s lives more
challenging than ever before. Chief of these is environmental pollution. In this day and age, the
household and industry waste resulting from the proliferation of the economy are contaminating our
surrounding atmosphere, including air, water and terrestrial environment. As a result, the health of
people as well as animals is affected negatively. According to some statistics, the rate of people living in
the polluted environment and suffering from illness such as cancer is much higher than the ones living in
fresher areas. Moreover, Overpopulation is an unsolved problem that poses serious threats to the living
condition of people. Since the population increases, many people are trying to seek jobs, many of whom
are unemployed and on the breadline.

Although life on the earth is in jeopardy, I believe that the idea of looking for new places such as Mars is
not feasible. This is because space exploration needs time, effort and money. Given the aforementioned
problems lying on the earth are imperative, people can not wait until the new land is discovered since
there is no guarantee that they are able to find suitable places. Therefore, each person on this land
should be accountable for improving the situation. On individual levels, they should try to protect the
environment from pollution by stopping littering, recycling and reusing products. Furthermore, They
need to study hard to meet the demand of a competitive working environment. On the government's
duty, they should impose punishment for those who generate waste unconsciously. Besides, They should
make an effort to create more jobs for their citizens, helping them improve living standards.

In conclusion, there is no denying that it is hard for people to live on the earth where environmental
pollution and an accelerating population are on the rise, however, people should try to tackle these
problems making the earth worth living rather than find alternative places. In the future, It is predicted
that if people put their hands together to address these thorny issues, life on the earth will be much
safer and easier.
