SCNHS INTRAMURALS 2019

School Intramural is one of the most awaited and highlights of every student, teachers and

faculty in every school year. Intramurals encourage all students to engage in physical activity

during non-instructional periods of the school day. Intramurals are student-centered, welcoming,

enjoyable events or activities that encourage everyone to participate as much as possible in

physical activity. Surigao City National High School (SCNHS) was my school for the past 4 years

or basically my Junior High School (JHS) days. SCNHS Intramurals / Athletic Meet 2019 was the

highlight of my JHS days. Not because I am an athlete but it was my first event leading a team of

First-Aiders. The aforementioned event took place on August 27-29, 2019 at Surigao City National

High School Grounds. The SCNHS Intramurals / Athletic Meet 2019 started with a street parade at

6 o'clock until 8 o'clock in the morning. The official opening program was at 8:30 am. The event

was spearheaded by the school principal, Dr. Arthur E. Jamera, Princpal IV of SCNHS and also

the one that declared that the SCNHS Athletic Meet 2019 be opened. He was assisted by the

Assistant Principal for Junior High School, Mr. Teofredo U. Delgado. The District Eight (8) Public

Schools District Supervisor, Mr. Zosimo Lopez also attended the event and so as the District Eight

(8) elementary schools who also took part on the Athletic Meet. After the Message of the Keynote

Speaker was the Field Demonstration of Grade Levels seven (7), eight (8), nine (9) and ten (10).

All have given their best for that performance but the judges have to choose the best field

demonstration presented that day and granted the title “Champion” to the Grade Ten (10)

students. The opening program concluded and it was a time for the students, athletes, coaches

and officiating officials to rest and get ready for the two (2) succeeding days. On the next day, the

event continued, students / athletes from other various grade levels competed with each other. It

was a fun yet a challenging experience for there are more or less 70 patients / injured individuals

throughout the duration of that 3-day event. On the third and last day of the event was the

awarding of certificates and medals to those who have accomplished and have given their best.

The event ended peacefully and was executed successfully. To conclude, nothing compares to the

experience that I am talking about in terms of the experience that I had while being part of that

event.
