SUMMARY
I am a Data Scientist with over 5 years of experience in preparing and analyzing data from several sectors including education, and
building data collection systems and visualization dashboards. I have knowledge and experience with web development, and data
engineering as well. I have co-authored several reports including this recent journal article I have a passion for solving challenges
in the social development sector using my knowledge and skills.

EXPERIENCE
LATERITE

Overall, I am responsible for lead and supporting the integrating cutting-edge technologies and innovations pursued by the
company in our work. Moreover, I am also responsible for automating and improving systems and processes.

• Lead and coordinate the implementation process of several innovation initiatives including Initiatives experimenting with AI
tools and Geo-spatial data.
• Develop prototypes to test new ideas and concepts aimed at improving efficiency of the current system or process.
• Proactively interact, communicate and collaborate with external stakeholders such as technology providers.
• Responsible for managing and overseeing the organization’s IT infrastructure which includes the several dashboards hosted
on Azure, data storage and data security systems.

LATERITE

In this role, I was responsible for designing research instruments, cleaning and preparing data, conducting analysis, writing and
disseminating results.

• Use advanced data science skills to analysis data to answer research questions and present data-driven results and
recommendations in a report.
• Collaborate in the development of interactive dashboards using R and Shiny to visually present key findings from the data.
• Design and develop data collection instruments and adapt tools for data monitoring to ensure quality.
• Presented research findings at several conferences and workshops, where I engaged different stakeholders including
governments, researchers and donors.

• Led in analyzing technical and functional specifications provided by business user of NAV applications.

BANKABLE FARMER PILOT

The goal of the project was to build a platform to link unbanked smallholder farmers to traditional financial services providers.
This was a pilot project in Rwanda, funded by Thomson Reuters.

• Led in sampling and gathering of data on smallholder farmers in Rwanda to use in building predictive models for a pilot
project.
• Collaborated in the design and development of a prototype web and USSD application through which smallholder farmers
to connect with financial providers.
• Collaborated in the development a preliminary credit risk score for smallholder farmers using primary and secondary data
collected.
• Contributed to the writing of the final report detailing the pilot outcomes, challenges and recommendations for the future.

GOVERNMENT DATA VERIFICATION

• Conducted training of field teams and provided supervision during data collection activities on field.
• Carried out primary data collection and verification using internal software tools.
• Provided support in developing field protocols, writing field reports and plans for the team.

VOLUNTEER
ANDELA

Led Andela’s efforts in building a vibrant tech community in Rwanda through the Andela learning community. I supported in
planning and running of developer-centred programs like monthly meetups. Provided technical and mentorship support to
aspiring developer.
