According to the Artist, his artwork
was basically about life’s challenges.
Challenges that make life beautiful and
meaningful but it can also make
someone’s life miserable. He called his
artwork “Habitation”. He mentioned,
it is a room in which it is up to you if
you’re going out to that room or to stay
inside. Either way, there is always
challenges, what matters the most is
you; would you walk out that door or
you’ll just stay. However, at the end of
the day true happiness will always
comes from solving challenges. The
artwork gives more impact as the
artisan said it seems simple but it
represents something that he has been
battling on for a quite some time.

This artwork is a depiction of
the two favorite things of the
artist: the midnights and cats.
This painting does not have a
particular or deeper meaning,
because it is more on
expressing what the artist
wants. It is the appreciation of
love for the moon, and
aesthetically portraying the two
things that he admired and
combing it in one canvas.
Everyone may interpret it the
way they wanted but the
artisans want to convey in the
artwork was about the two cats
flirting above the roofs at the
middle of the night. This meant
to depict typical scenarios that
he sees or hear whenever his
working at with his artwork late
at night.

“Worth of Art”
An artist named Joseph Radam Malbuezo reside in Alexandra South Subdivision,
Barangay Majada Out, Calamba City. He studied and finish his Senior High Education at Camp
Vicente Lim Integrated School. He is known for being a good student and also for being part of
the Journalism team because of his outstanding talent when it comes to digital arts. Sadly, because
of pandemic, he encounters difficulties and challenges that made him decide not to continue his
studies and save up money to ensure that he has what he need that could support him to continue
his journey. Creating masterpiece and artworks helped him to accumulate money. He became
freelancer related to art, and creates an artwork for commissions for him to continue his dream that
his been wanting and praying for.
On the other hand, before he continues his life being a digital artist, he experienced
problems that challenge him to fight for what he wants and what he really loves. And he proudly
said that he surpasses it all that is the part when the artist said “It is already done with the fighting,
I guess it’s my turn to keep up the fight”. According to Malbuezo, “art is everything”. For him arts
particularly visual arts are his creative outlet. It is an expression of knowledge, experiences,
problems, and wisdom. He honestly said that he does not know how would he possibly keep his
sanity without art due to the fact that it helps him contain imploding feelings, serves as his way to
let go of bursts of inexpressible emotions, it helps him reminisce moments happened and things
that are not going to happen. Furthermore, for him art is an escape from reality but can also be a
mirror or reality. It is happiness as well as melancholy.
Just like the artwork that he did the habitacion, “whenever you are, there are challenges,
but would you let challenges hinder you from going out and going in”. It depends on the person
how he wanted his/her life would be but for him art is really a big thing that helped him to continue
and to not feel being alone with his dream or journey.
As someone who does not have enough knowledge about arts. It gives and inspiration to
all the people to have a deeper understanding, connection, and especially appreciation not only
with the artwork but also the person behind those masterpieces. It gives us a realization that we
must appreciate every single detail because an artwork is not just a simple thing, it comes from the
hard work, experiences, creativity, great imagination, talent and skills of a person who truly love
and have passion with arts.
