Note: This document assumes that the target application is one that fully supports all functionality for the
creation of Navigation projects. WPB Navigator heavily depends upon the target application interface, system
architecture, implementation, rollout scenarios, the content estimate and which processes can be run at the
same time. Due to these dependencies the total number of days required for delivery of the services package
may be subject to increase. Additional days may be required based on the SAP WPB Education Consultant’s
recommendations following the Kick Off and Proof of Concept Workshop on Day One.

KICKOFF AND PROOF OF CONCEPT WORKSHOP – 1 DAY


Description:

The kick off workshop with Project Manager and Technical Lead designed to give the SAP WPB Education
Consultant and the customer an understanding of the key functionalities of Navigator, the organization’s
technical landscape, the target applications and the deployment options. This will be supported by a small Proof
of Concept with the following outcomes:

Outcome:

 Functional overview of Navigator


 the SAP WPB Education Consultant understands the customer requirements, target application details, IT
infrastructure and Navigator audience
 Core team / project manager(s) is/are equipped with an understanding of the various Navigator
implementation scenarios and which one best suits your requirements
 IT department and SAP Basis administrators understand their tasks and the timelines
 IT infrastructure characteristics and policies defined
 Physical setup (Client rollout(s), server setup, SAP system and GUI modifications, etc.) planned
 A working example of the supported scenarios
 Stakeholders understand the support process

Recommended Participants

 IT responsible manager who can facilitate changes to Server Infrastructure, SAP and Desktop Installation

DOCUMENT AND DESIGN REVIEW – 1 DAY (REMOTE)


Description:

All discussions and decisions made on the kick-off and proof of concept workshop are documented in an
implementation guide which includes:

 Workshop minutes
 Specifications
 Storyboards

PRODUCER TRAINING WORKSHOP – NAVIGATOR
EDITION – 1 DAY
Description

Delivered in a standard classroom style, the workshop provides a theoretical overview of the key subject areas in
conjunction with hands-on exercises and best practices. The course covers only the aspects of WPB which are
relevant to the creation of context-sensitive help. By the end of the day, each trainee will be familiar with the
concepts, and be able to create Navigator projects.

Topics include:

 Navigation macro set at a glance


 Navigation by conversion
 How to create Context Assistant projects manually
 How to create Process Assistant projects manually
 Advanced navigations (hyperlink tree structures, PA/CA mix.)
 Maintenance of navigation projects (context “rerecording“)
 Include projects
 Understanding the Navigator client

Prerequisites:

 Producer and Navigator must be installed on training PCs


 All attendees must have attended the Producer Basic Training course

WRAP UP WORKSHOP – 1 DAY
Description

In the wrap up workshop, the statuses of the tasks defined in the planning workshop are checked for
completeness, any pending tasks escalated and the system environment is finalized and checked. This
workshop is also used to discuss any problems encountered, plus any further solution and/or configuration
changes required.

Outcome:

 Infrastructure is ready to use (technical and business perspective)


 Acceptance of customizing
 Authoring guideline exists
 No pending blocker tasks left on either side
