Foundation day is one of the most important and most awaited events every year. Foundation
day is a day of remembrance, a day of honoring, a day to celebrate what has been achieved over
the years, a day to look forward to what is yet to come. TAPS started on February 22, 2011 the first
ever Hi-Tech School in Isabela located at Barangay Aurora, Alicia, Isabela which happened to be
the main campus for it has seven campuses now in different parts of the Philippines. It has
received multiple awards such as “Most Trusted Private School In Isabela'', “Top Performing
School In Isabela”, “Best Choice Quality Private School In Isabela”, “Excellence In Educational
Transformation Awardee (EETA) and as been named as “The Most Hi-Tech School In The
Philippines”. TAPS Foundation Day will be
celebrated by the end of March this year in TAPS
Alicia Main Campus. Various activities like
Regional Sportsfest which started at the end of

Deal to Conduct
Water Study,
Install Water
Monitoring Wells

The University of the Philippines
Cebu (UP Cebu) and the Department of
Science and Technology Central Visayas
(DOST 7) have agreed to establish
additional water monitoring wells in Cebu
City for groundwater level, quality
monitoring and research, and provision of
emergency wells. On Monday, May 8,
2023, UP Cebu Vice Chancellor Hazel
Trapero and DOST 7 Regional Director
Jesus Zamora Jr., acting in place of
Chancellor Leo Malagar, signed the
agreement to officially commence the
project.
The head of the Lapu-Lapu City
Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
Office, Nagiel Baacia, and Cebu City
Councilor Joel Garganera also attended.
In accordance with the contract, the
DOST 7 will contribute P2.7 million to the
Installation of Standby Wells for
Emergencies and Research, or iSWEAR,
project. The Local Grant-in-Aid program of
DOST 7 provides funding for the project.

Inflation Eases In

Gov't to
Recalibrate
Mitigating
Strategies -NEDA

As the inflation rate eases in February
2023, the National Economic and
Development Authority (NEDA) stressed the
need to recalibrate government strategies
to alleviate the impact of higher commodity
prices.
The Philippine Statistics Authority
reported today that the country’s headline
inflation rate marginally slowed down to 8.6
percent in February 2023 from 8.7 percent
in January 2023, as price increases of
certain food commodities and energy
eased.
However, energy and food inflation
remained the top contributors to inflation,
accounting for 1.0 and 0.9 percentage
points (ppt), respectively. This was followed
by restaurant services contributing 0.8 ppt
and house rentals with 0.7 ppt. Meanwhile,
public transport contributed 0.6 ppt.
“The government continues to
implement calibrated and swift measures to
arrest inflation and its impact, including
addressing supply issues especially in food
products, providing targeted cash transfers
and social protection programs to the most
vulnerable sectors of the society, and
ensuring access to affordable and reliable
energy sources,” Balisacan said.

For students who are under academic
pressure, procrastination has been
developed into a nasty habit. Stopping this
harmful behavior is necessary. Because of
this, procrastination causes various
detrimental impacts that students
frequently encounter when racing to
complete some assignment.
An inability to prioritize, stay on
target, or maintain attention may be the
cause of procrastination, says author and
psychiatrist Dr. Alex Wills. The school is one
of the main places where cramming is
frequently practiced. Students that lack
drive put off completing their planned work.

in subpar work.

United Kingdom, Fuchsia Sirois, asserts that
"scientific research implies that
procrastination is attributable to poor mood
regulation." When students consider their
workloads or upcoming assignments, they

Although there are drawbacks
to procrastination, many people can benefit
from it. Self-discipline training makes it
easier to complete activities ahead of
schedule. According to Jin Nam Choi, PhD, a
management professor at Seoul National
University in South Korea, "active
procrastination" refers to the deliberate
delaying of tasks in order to feel under
pressure and be motivated to complete
them. People that procrastinate sometimes
feel under pressure, and as a result, some of
them work harder to complete their duties.
Additionally, putting off tasks
will only make them worse. When schools
resumed offering in-person instruction, it
was anticipated that students would once
more put off completing their assignments
until the very last minute. However,
developing time management skills and
developing self-control may be able to
defeat cramming.

our country now adays. It was believed that the
world has been overly dominated by men
leaving the other gender powerless and
sometimes being downgraded causing chaos
among the genders. Some say equality is only
idealistic since equality is a complete myth
according to realists.

Nationwide landmark law banning sexism,

domestic violence, catcalls, and wolf whistles
has been passed. There has been uneven
enforcement, and many women are unaware of
the legal rights to which they are entitled. It
also took some time to get the legal
impediments to the full application of the
reproductive health law removed.

Because women continue to be on the

front lines of the pandemic and climate crises,
whether as health professionals, community
leaders, educators, or unpaid caregivers, there
is an urgent need to boost women and girls'
resilience in every society at all levels to
combat any crisis and ensure their access to
sexual and reproductive health services and
information.

the basic skills they would need to

relationship between teachers and their
students is the key element in creating
an educational atmosphere that is both
pleasant and effective in the student’s
college life and professional life.
Teachers have been a great part in the
life of all students. Ever since then, they
are one of the instruments that mold
every child on whom they will become.
So as a teacher, what is the feeling of
being a big part in the life and becoming
of every student? What is the feeling of
accompanying and leading them in
every chapter of their life, most
especially in their college life? Knowing
that college life has a very big
difference compared to elementary and
high school life.
Sir Jezrael Sicam Saet, often
called Sir Jez, a 25 year old teacher
from the school of Top Achiever Private
School in Alicia, is one of the well
known teachers in their school. He grew

University, who took Bachelor of
Secondary Education Major in Filipino,
and graduated on June 18, 2018. After
he graduated, Sir Jezrael decided to use
his learning in his course, by starting
teaching in the year 2019 of August. He
started to apply at Top Achiever Private
School on March 20, 2019, and started
teaching in August 2019. Basically,
TAPS- Alicia is his first and current
school that he is working at. He is now
in his 4 years of teaching at TAPS-
Alicia, and he experienced being an
adviser of lower grade, and currently
the adviser of grade 12 students or the
graduating students. According to Sir
Jez, there is a big difference between
handling a lower grade and graduating
students. “It is more challenging
handling a grade 12 student than a
lower grade student, but it is not hard
teaching a grade 12 student." ,Sir
Jezrael explained. He also stated that,
“Being in a lower grade is more of a
spoon feeding way of teaching, or
something that you have to focus on.
While in grade 12, you can give them the
