1 LEARNING OUTCOMES (LO):

1. Apply the simulation results for the various types of simulation

analysis based on the electronic circuit theory and operations

2 OBJECTIVE :

i. Apply the simulation result for ARES PCB between schematic on

simulation side and PCB fabricating board
ii. Construct the the PCB board based on schematic design in ISIS
proteus

3 THEORY :
 ISIS is the software used to draw schematics and simulate the circuits in
real time. The simulation allows human access during run time, thus
providing real time simulation.
 ARES  is used for PCB designing. It has the feature of viewing output in
3D view of the designed PCB along with components.

ISIS has wide range of components in its library. It has sources, signal
generators, measurement and analysis tools like oscilloscope, voltmeter,
ammeter etc., probes for real time monitoring of the parameters of the circuit,
switches, displays, loads like motors and lamps, discrete components like
resistors, capacitors, inductors, transformers, digital and analog Integrated
circuits, semi-conductor switches, relays, microcontrollers, processors, sensors
etc.

ARES offers PCB designing up to 14 inner layers, with surface mount and
through hole packages. It is embedded with the footprints of different category
of components like ICs, transistors, headers, connectors and other discrete
components. It offers Auto routing and manual routing options to the PCB
Designer. The schematic drawn in the ISIS can be directly transferred ARES.

4 EQUIPMENT / TOOLS / SOFTWARE:

1. PC workstation
2. Related software
5 Procedure:
 Draw the power supply circuit as indicated below
LM 7805
B1 B2

 Set the Input voltage of the circuit to 12V and discard the
connector J1 from the simulation or else it will give an error.
Measure the input voltage either from the battery B1 line to get the
input voltage (use voltmeter to get the output voltage)
 Next measure the output voltage parallel of C2 line to get the
output voltage of the circuit.
 Now you can compare the output of regulator 7805 to control and
fixed the 5V of the circuit
 Next transfer the design to the ARIES PCB design to route the
PCB

 Routing the PCB to set for single layer output

 Display the output of the PCB in 3D

 Important : As and additional exercises please route the above

design in both single layer and double layer.

PCB EXAMPLE AS BELLOW (Note that each of PC will give different
route of PCB please do not copy this result you will sure getting
different output)

7 DISCUSSION :
Proteus offers a single platform for schematic capture, simulation, and PCB layout
design, creating a unified design environment. An effortless transition from circuit
design to PCB execution is made possible by this integrated environment. Using ISIS,
you may design a circuit schematic by choosing parts from a huge collection of
electronic symbols and joining them with wires or buses. ISIS also enables
hierarchical design, making it simple to create intricate circuits. ISIS-based simulation
and analysis of your circuit's behaviour are made possible by Proteus. There are
several other simulations you can run, including DC, AC, transient, and mixed-mode
simulations. Before beginning PCB designing, this assists in confirming the circuit's
operation and locating any potential problems. PCB Layout Design: After the
schematic design is finished, the design can be sent to ARES for PCB layout. For
component placement, trace routing, copper pour definition, and polygonal copper
regions, ARES offers a comprehensive range of capabilities. Additionally, it has
features like clearance checking, impedance matching, and differential pair routing.
ARES in Proteus performs a design rule check to make sure your plan complies with
the established design rules and limitations. Errors including clearance violations,
overlapping traces, minimum trace widths, and other manufacturing-related problems
are all made easier to find with its assistance. Proteus has a 3D visualisation capability
that enables you to visualise and examine your PCB layout in three dimensions. This
makes it easier to see how components are physically arranged, confirm mechanical
clearances, and spot any potential interference. Proteus enables you to create
manufacturing files like Gerber files, drill files, and BOM once the PCB layout is
complete. These files can be used right away for PCB assembly and fabrication.

8 CONCLUSION :
In conclusion, You can create circuit diagrams utilising a variety of electronic parts
and symbols with ISIS's robust schematic capture tool. Before moving on to the PCB
designing step, you can analyse and confirm the operation of your circuit using ISIS'
simulation capabilities. You can move the schematic design to the PCB layout
environment thanks to the smooth integration of ARES, the PCB layout module, with
ISIS. For effective and precise PCB layout design, ARES offers tools for component
placement, trace routing, copper pour definition, and 3D visualisation. Design Rule
Check (DRC) in ARES makes sure that your PCB layout complies with the required
design limitations and standards, avoiding typical mistakes and manufacturing
problems. A seamless transition from circuit design to PCB implementation is
possible with Proteus because to its unified design environment, which is provided by
a single software package. Proteus' output production features make it possible to
create manufacturing files for PCB fabrication and assembly, including Gerber files,
drill files, and BOM. From early circuit design and simulation through final PCB
layout and output generation, Proteus' PCB designing with ISIS and ARES offers a
thorough and effective workflow. The Proteus software suite's integration of various
components improves the design process, resulting in higher accuracy, fewer errors,
and more productivity.
