Week3

Q1: What would you do if you were the judge facing this

case?

In my opinion, if someone commit a crime , no matter how old

the child is ,whether he/she is intentional, they must be

punished. For example, they should be put into an environment

where offer them a adequate education and mental health

counselors, also enforces them to know the seriousness of

crime, which may disrupt other family. On the other hand, in

order to avoid the irresponsibility of parent, and leave aside the

parent’s neglect of duty, so we should revoke parental custody

rights. Until both the child and the parents have the proper

cognition of safety and justifiability, they can return to their

regular life again.

Q2: Gun control and violence of course, but what are some

other problems -- particularly educational ones -- revealed

through this case?

The law of gun violence is not complete, as specially for the

underaged children. Because of the grey area, those criminals

cannot suffer from the punishment they should obtain. As long

as the restriction does not improve, those people who are

under protection of the current law are still evading retribution.

On the other hand, we should take actions instead of saying. In

the U.S.A, many parents take children to shooting range, in

order to let them understand gun clearly. From my point of

view, instead of the school educational theorem, making

children access to guns in person can understand the dangerous

of gun more effectively. This can be decrease effectively the rate

of shooting incident.

Q3. What are some of the looming problems in education

sector in Taiwan? What would you propose to bring about

some alleviation / amendments?

For the education in Taiwan, most students are be required to

value score and rank. Unlike the western countries, lots of

experiments and implementations are involved in the course.

Therefore, students in Taiwan only know the theorem rather

than understanding how to implement them, no

implementation would lack achievement which decrease the

willing of studying. Furthermore, Taiwanese students still be

required to study by their parents in spare time, however this

restrict them from cultivating interests. On the contrary,

students in other countries can do what they like in spare time.

For instance, the class end in about 3pm in Japan, after that,

they have a particular time for extracurricular, this benefits

them for finding their interests and increasing their creativity.

From my perspective, the education authority should reduce

the time studying in main subject, make students develop a

great diversity of interests and autonomic learning.
