 Determining what you need and what actions to perform


 Defining goals and objectives for the organization (Purchasing, Hiring of new employees,
financing, etc.)
 Creating structured vision and mission

Short-term planning: 6 months to 1 year


Long-term planning: 1 year or more; strategic planning with covered period per department

 Congruence: Compatibility within the department; alignment of tasks


 Career Pathing: Having you position aligned to your background in the corporate world. This
includes the years of attainment in different positions such as manager, supervisor, etc.

Levels of Management
It is defined as the line of division between different managerial positions that will determine the
chain of command within an organization.

 Top Level
 Board of directors, chief executives, or managing directors
 Ultimate source of authority
 Manages goals and policies for an enterprise
 Provides guidance, direction, plans, and coordination

 Middle Level
 Branch managers and departmental managers
 Problem solving, team building, talent management, performance management
 Participate in employment and training of lower-level management
 Interpret and explain the policies from top-level management

 Lower Level
 More on emotional intelligence, discipline, and coaching
 Motivations such as providing trainings, solutions to grievances of workers, and
entertainment of suggestions and recommendatory appeals

Communication in the Corporate World


Communication is the lifeline of the business. Communication maintains the smooth workflow in
the company in terms of effective negotiations, achieving goals, and dissemination of right information in
the right period of time.

 Oral
 Can be formal (meetings, interviews, discussions, speeches) or informal (grapevine:
rumors circulating around the office)
 Communication through mouth
 Can be direct or telephonic

 Written
 Includes agendas, reports, manuals, etc.
 Will take time as feedback is not immediate
 Involves careful choice of words due to formal way of writing
 Organization, cohesion, and effective writing must be implied so that it will be more
valid and reliable.

Workstation Management and Office Safety

 Arrangement and organization in the physical workspace in order to perform tasks well with a
well-conditioned body.
Human Resource Management

 Even it is a small or a large business, Human Resource Manager is really essential in the structure
of the company and its manpower. They are responsible in hiring and accepting (recruitment and
selection) efficient and competent people in the right position in order to have satisfactions in the
department performance-wise.
 Internal recruitment: expansion (additional employees) for promotions, and hiring people in
specific fields they are competitive. Note that these peoples are already working in the same
company.
 External recruitment, on the other hand, is the hiring of new people outside the company.
 Personal Management Department is the term used during the earlier days – Human Resource
Management.
 Planning activities and seminars to further increase the program development and maintain the
balance between workload and life in the business world are all responsibilities of the Human
Resource Management.
 Performance management includes performance appraisals, feedbacks, coaching. Good
performance can result to promotion and increase of salary.
