Spanish Language - General - Level 1, Unit 1

Day 1 - Basic Greetings, Introductory to the Language (Strand NL.IL)


- Students will be able to listen to and understand basic Spanish vocabulary and
phrases
- Students can recognize, speak, and listen to basic survival phrases in Spanish
- Students will be able to introduce themselves in Spanish including:
- Their name
- Their age
- A hobby
- Place of origin

Day 2 - Students can recognize some letters and characters when they read and write
them (Strand NL.IR)
- Students will be able to recognize some letters and their sounds in the Spanish
alphabet
- Students will learn basic numbers in Spanish
- 1-10 (uno through diez)

Day 3 - Students will be able to recite, write, and read all basic words and ideas that
they have learned (Strand NL.PS)
- Students will have a chance to create a presentation with a partner in which they
are having a conversation in Spanish, using the vocabulary that they’ve learned
- Students will have individual study time to make their “skits” and review

Day 4 - Students will be able to demonstrate their interpersonal speaking and listening
skills through the skits (Strand NL.PS, cont)
- Students will perform their skits, and others will write down what they see or
hear
- Students will be required to incorporate
- Name, age, hobby, place of origin
