LOW VOLTAGE LIGHTING SYSTEMS
INSPECTION CODE: N/A
SCOPE: RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL
APPLICABLE CODES: 2019 CBC, CRC, CPC, CMC, CEC, CALGreen, CEnC, and PAMC
The information provided in this document is general and intended as a guide only. Each project is unique
and additional requirements may be enforced as deemed appropriate.
INSPECTION
 Luminaires (fixtures) shall be listed (any modifications to the luminaries (fixtures) may void the listing).
(CEC 411.4)

 Branch circuits shall not exceed 20 amps. (CEC 411.7)

 Secondary bare conductors shall be installed indoors only, and they shall be installed no less than 7 feet
above the finished floor. (CEC 411.6(B))

 Secondary branch circuits shall be insulated from the branch circuit by an isolating transformer. (CEC
411.6(C))

 Lighting systems shall not be installed within 10 feet of pools or spas. (CEC 411.5(B))
