MOVIE REVIEW
The movie entitled “Seven Sundays” was a Family Comedy-drama film that was directed by
Cathy Garcia-Molina and was released by Star Cinema on October 11,2017 starringAga
Muhlach, Ronaldo Valdez, Cristine Reyes, Dingdong Dantes and Enrique Gil.

A movie that is all about Manuel Bonifacio, the Captain of the Barangay, wanting to bring his
family back together to celebrate while he is still alive; unfortunately, he received the news that
he has lung cancer and has only at least two months to live. After receiving the news, he
informed his children about his diseases and told them his wishes before he died. He informed
his four busy children that he wanted them to be with him as he spent his last remaining days.
His children agreed to meet on Sundays for 7 weeks. At first, they were all very reluctant to talk
to each other because they all suffered from personal issues, and their meeting became painful.
As the remaining Sunday came, they slowly mend the bond. Later on, Manuel learned that he
had been misdiagnosed, and this became the reason for his children to become distant again.
Later on, each of his children dealt with their personal issues and faced their challenges with the
help of one another, and their bond became stronger.

Seven Sundays is a well-directed film, and the story was explained very well. It is your typical
family comedy film, and the plot is very predictable, but each event will give you a roller coaster
ride of emotions. Some scenes will make you laugh, then the story's mood will change and you
will cry. The director was able to explain certain events very well, but I feel like there are some
scenes that should not have been included, and the story will still progress Overall, the movie
was a rollercoaster of emotions, and the director did a great job of capturing the audience's
attention. However, some editing could have been done to make the story more cohesive and
impactful. One of the famous films directed by Cathy Gacia-Molina is Hello, Love, Goodbye."
In this movie, all scenes are well connected to each other and complement each other. There are
no unnecessary scenes like in the film "Seven Sundays". The two films show the growth of the
director in handling films. Both movies are good, but in terms of acting and overall presentation,
I would pick Hello, Love, Goodbye". Because I learned a lot in this film, the chemistry between
the lead actors was palpable, and their performances were very convincing. Additionally, the
story tackled relevant issues that are relatable to many people. The director's style  and
techniques have improved, resulting in a more polished look that can easily be seen in the film.
The film Seven Sunday takes place in the house of Manuel Bonifacio, whereas he lived only
with his nephew, Jun. The place really helps to set the mood because a house or a home will
bring you that feeling of comfort but also pain. The house  served as a witness to the secrets and
conflicts that arose within the family, highlighting how a seemingly peaceful home can harbor
hidden tensions and issues that can tear relationships apart. Overall, the setting of the film played
a crucial role in conveying the complex emotions and dynamics of the characters. but were able
to bring back their bond by being together at their old house. The story highlights the importance
of communication and spending quality time with loved ones to maintain strong relationships. It
also shows that revisiting old memories and shared experiences can help bring people closer
together. The movie was great, but there were times where I felt like the movie was going out of
the plot. At the very start of the movie, it shows a montage of the family growing over the years.
The montage was just photographs and a clip of video that showed how the family has grown
over the years. It somehow narrates how each member of the family grows and what happens in
their life before moving out and starting their own family The use of the montage effectively sets
the tone for the rest of the movie, highlighting the At the very start of the movie, it shows a

breaking the mood of the story. You can see that in some scenes that have a very heavy mood,
the lighting seems dark to show the emotion compiling the characters. In some scenes, the actors

noteworthy, as it effectively captures the emotions of the characters and enhances the overall
mood of the story. The combination of the montage and visual elements sets a strong foundation
for the movie's narrative and engages the audience from the very beginning. Overall, the movie
was good. The music adds something to the emotions and scenes from the movie. Also, the
costumes show how the characters differ from each other.
