Complete the sentence:

(1) I have to do these three things, accept my flaws, love my body and be contented to what I have to
maintain my inner and outer beauty.
(2) I promise not to engage in any surgery to have a beautiful face or body to avoid future negative
consequences.

ASSESSMENT
Discuss the cultural conceptions and standards of beauty of the face and body through
the following questions:

 What does your body and sexuality tell about yourself?


- My body and sexuality indicate that I am a female. I was attracted to boys and all feminine
things.

 If you have the freedom, money, and time to alter your body, which part would you
change? Why?
- If I had more freedom, money, and time, I would not change anything about my body
because I am happy and contented with what I have. I have a unique beauty, and I believe
that true beauty is in your heart.

Referring to the table (slide # 7), answer the following


questions:

1.When do we usually observe the changes you have listed on the table for males and females?
- We usually observe this changes between the ages of 10 and 15 years old, when the
reproductive organs grow to their adult size and become functional under the influence of gonadal
hormones (testosterone in males and estrogen in females).

2. Have you experience the same changes? When?


- Yes, I experienced the same changes when I was 13 years old, a Grade 7 student.

3. If you have not experience the listed changes, what might have caused it?
- Chromosomal problems, genetic disorder, chronic illness or tumors of the pituitary gland and
hypothalamus. Other possible causes include stress, weight loss, and excessive exercise.

4. Can we change our natural organ and sexual response?


- Yes, our natural organs can be altered through medical procedures because of the modern
technology we have today, but it is only cosmetic. The sexual response of an individual can also
change depending on the influence of society/environment in which he/she is engaged.

5. How does the society form a person's sexual behavior?


- Society influences a person’s sexual behavior by what that individual sees, hears, and how
society treats him/her.
