1.In your own opinion, was Rizal able to contribute any great/greatest idea to the
development of the country? What is/are this/these/those idea(s)?
Yes, as for me, Jose Rizal influenced the generation through his fascinating works and
contributed a lot to the development of our country. His contributions have played a
crucial role in the Filipino people's pursuit of independence and have led to significant
advancements in different fields. Rizal's impact on Philippine art, literature, and medicine
remains captivating to his fellow countrymen even in present times. Back then, Rizal
established educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and implemented a water
system. Additionally, he imparted agricultural knowledge, and actively engaging in
farming. Rizal's advocated reforms did not encompass independence as his primary
objective. Instead, he advocated for equitable treatment of Filipinos, the curtailment of
authority held by Spanish friars and government.
2. In your own opinion, why is the Philippine Revolution considered one of the
most significant events in the history?
The phrase "Las Islas Filipinas," which translates to "the Philippine Islands," was given to
the archipelago in 1543 as a tribute to Philip II of Spain (Spanish: Felipe II). It is from this
name that the term "Filipino" as a description of nationality or ethnicity originated.
Francisca Montes-Susano, who hails from Barangay Oringao in the southern part of
Negros City, has gained recognition in recent times as the oldest Filipino alive. Born in
1897, she marked her 124th birthday on September 11 and has 14 children, the eldest of
whom is now 101 years old.
Rizal endeavored to foresee the fate of his motherland through his literary works. By
carefully examining the prevailing conditions and circumstances of his time, he
projected his vision of the Philippines' future, envisioning how the country would evolve
and develop over the course of a century. In this essay, Rizal tackles various subjects that
hold significance for our nation. These include issues such as the infringement upon
human rights, the restriction of press freedom, and the absence of representation in the
Spanish Cortes, which he addresses with deep concern. Additionally in the part of the
essay, it stated that his sole goal was to serve as a warning to Spain about what would
happen to their relationship if they continued to treat the Filipinos badly.
