He is very angered withy Venice’s Christians, in particolar by Antonio; so, he decides to take a revenge.When Antonio asks him a loan for his friend Bassanio, Shylock accept, but if Antonio is unable to repey the sum, Shylock will take a pound of his flesh.
Portia is a young and wealthy heiress. Like Shylock she is
very rich. Her father left a will that each of her suitors must choose correctly from one of three caskets and whoever will take the right casket will marry Portia. Fortunately, Bassanio, the man that she wants, takes the right casket and marries her. In the end she disguise herself as a male lawyer and saves Antonio from Shylock.
