This manual provides operational and specialized information for those operators working with the machine.
Proper machine operation, including proper adjustment and maintenance, will ensure optimum machine
performance. Moreover, operational method can influence the quality of yarn produced as well as machine
service life.
Please read this manual entirely in order to maintain the best operating conditions and ensure maximum
performance and safe operation.
This instruction manual must be made available to operators and maintenance personnel at all times.
In the event the machine is resold, this instruction manual must accompany the machine to its new
destination. The new purchaser must receive training from Murata Machinery Ltd. with respect to
operation of the machine. Murata Machinery Ltd. accepts no responsibility for any problem arising
from failure to satisfy these conditions.

Sec 3 Safety Regulations & Accident Prevention 3
Sec
Failure to observe the following precautions can lead to a fire or electric shock,
causing death or serious injury.
1. Safety Cautions
- Regardless of whether or not the machine is in operation, pulling out or plugging in an electrical connector or
electrical board while the machine’s power is on may generate sparks or cause a fire. Always turn the main
switch off before pulling out or plugging in an electrical connector or electrical board.
Failure to observe the following precautions can lead to injury, or to damage to the machine
or surrounding objects.
1. Safety Cautions
- Note and memorize the position of the emergency stop switches so that you can operate without delay if an
emergency occurs.
- Before starting the machine, check around the periphery of the machine and confirm that it is safe to start it.
- Turn the main power switch off, and lock it out before performing any maintenance or adjustments to the
machine.
- Turn the machine off at the control panel, and switch off and lock out the main power switch before leaving
the machine unattended.
- If a power outage occurs, switch off and lock out the main power switch.
- Never open the machine doors or covers when it is operating.
- Before performing maintenance work, switch off and lock out the main power switch to ensure that the
machine cannot accidentally be started.
- Work on motors and other electrical equipment must only be performed by trained and authorized electrical
technicians.

4. Operation Safety Regulations
- Never attempt to remove yarn that has wound onto belts or other rotating parts of the machine while the 3
machine is operating. Sec
8. Unusable Fibers
- Electrically conductive fibers (carbon fibers and metallic fibers) cannot be used. If the yarn fiber (fly waste)
contacts the printed circuit board, there is a risk a short circuit could result in damage or incorrect operation
of the electrical parts or fire.

Sec 4 Safety Stickers 4
Sec
- Safety stickers are placed at various locations around the machine to warn operators of potential danger and
prevent accidents. The warnings on these stickers must be obeyed at all times.
- Never remove these safety stickers from the machine. If a safety sticker comes off or becomes difficult to
read, contact Murata Machinery immediately and request a replacement .
- Safety stickers are classified into three categories: DANGER, WARNING, and CAUTION. These
classifications have the following meanings.
● DANGER
Failure to obey the instructions on the safety sticker may result in death.
● WARNING
Failure to obey the instructions on the safety sticker may result in serious personal injury or
damage to the machine.
● CAUTION
Failure to obey the instructions on the safety sticker may result in personal injury or damage to the
machine.
● The various safety stickers and their meanings.
See list below.

NOTE
Your MURATA MACHINERY product is designed and manufactured with high quality materials and
components which can be recycled and/or reused.
This symbol means that batteries and accumulators, at their end-of-life, should be disposed of separately from
your household waste.
If a chemical symbol is printed beneath the symbol shown above, this chemical symbol means that
the battery or accumulator contains a heavy metal at a certain concentration. This will be indicated as
follows:
Hg: mercury (0.0005 %), Cd: cadmium (0.002 %), Pb: lead (0.004 %)
In the European Union there are separate collection systems for used batteries and accumulators.
Please, dispose of batteries and accumulators correctly at your local community waste collection/ recycling
center. When requested, Murata Machinery will collect used batteries and accumulators free of charge.
Please, help us to conserve the environment we live in!

Operation Method
If an emergency stop operation is necessary, use one of the following methods to perform the operation.
When this operation is performed, all operations on the machine immediately stop.
● Turn OFF the main switch on the main control box. (Refer to Chapter 1, 6-1)
● Press the emergency stop switch. (Refer to Chapter 1, 6-2)
Performing an emergency stop during operation causes undue stress on the machine.
As a result, do not perform an emergency stop operation unnecessarily, or unless it is an
emergency.
Release Method
When releasing the emergency stop and re-starting the machine, perform the following steps.
1. Check the area around the machine to ensure safe operation.
2. Make sure the area behind the machine is cleared of all personnel (maintenance, etc.).
3. Turn ON the main switch.
4. When you perform an emergency stop operation using the emergency stop switch on the CBF or
the supply unit, use the same switch to release it.
5. Press the start button.
The machine operation will re-start.

Restarting After Machine Stops Due to Lightning Strike & Power Outage
● When the main switch has tripped
1. Move the main switch from the TRIP position back to the OFF position, and then turn it ON.
2. Turn on the machine operation switch.
The machine operation will re-start.
● When the power supply has suddenly stopped causing the winding unit operation to stop
When the winding unit detects that the power supply has stopped because of a lightning strike or a problem
with the equipment, the unit stops and indicates an operator call. “ ” is shown on the unit status display.

It is important that the take-up tube can support the package brake load (200 N) and that the inner diameter
dimensions do not change (Φd, ΦD). The clearance between the bearing center and the take-up tube must
satisfy the following conditions from the start to the end of the winding operation.
