A vessel which the runs or operates above atmospheric pressure can be

called as Pressure vessels. the Pressure vessels are capable of holding the
volume of liquids, vapours, and the the gases above atmospheric pressure.
There are several high-pressure-piping design equipment’s working the under
this philosophy such as Heat Exchangers, Filters, Heaters, Coolers and
Reaction vessels. The safety of this pressurized vessels is the depending
heavily on the factors considered while designing the vessel. the ASME Sec
VIII requests for the following minimum considerations while designing
Pressure vessel.

 Design Code
 Design/Operating Pressure & Temperature
 Maximum Allowable Working Pressure (MAWP)
 Minimum Design Metal Temperature (MDMT)
 Hydrotest Pressure
 Process condition
 Corrosion Allowance
 Nominal thickness
 Reinforcement Pad thickness
 Head shape -Hemispherical head, ellipsoidal head, flanged head
 high-pressure-piping design
 wind and seismic load data’s
 Load conditions
 Orientation of Vessel
 Fabrication material
 Volume of Vessel
 Factor of safety
 Surface finish
 Welding
 External factors
