Design Thinking for Engineers
This course introduces design thinking and presents it as a
process that approaches problem-solving with uncovering real
user needs and innovation with human-centered design. The
course provides discussions on key frameworks such as user
empathy mapping, identifying insights, themes, and patterns,
framing user and problem statements, rapid prototyping, testing,
iteration, and enhancing value creation for stakeholders.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be
able to:
1. Explain the design thinking principles in solving problems
2. Apply design thinking approaches and tools in engineering
design projects
3. Apply design thinking concept to one’s life
