NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE WEBINAR ON THE INTELLECTUAL


PROPERTY (IP) RIGHTS AWARENESS

A webinar happened on May 19, 2023 about the Intellectual property rights
awareness and presented the program through zoom. The first topic discussed
was about the intellectual property (IP) rights awareness including the vision,
mission, goals, objectives, CIET core values which is a commitment, integrity,
empowerment, and a team. Then they continued on the following topics that
discuss the significant parts to know about the Intellectual property and the
importance of it.I was able to learn the world of intellectual property which
was surprising because it actually covers most of what’s around us. The ability
to create something out of imagination is a complex yet amazing human trait.
After all, the intellectual property offers entertainment, improves our daily
lives, makes innovation possible, and supports the economy.
IP and IP-related areas that is the utility model, patent, industrial design,
trademark, copyright and other IP related areas. The Intellectual property
process the IP commercialization and utilization is the process of turning a
creation or invention into a commercially feasible product, service or process.
IP creation is the state shall encourage the society to be more innovative and
creative towards economic and sociocultural development, and the IP
protection that state shall protect and secure the exclusive rights of scientists,
investors, artist and other gifted citizens to their intellectual property and
creations. Intellectual property (IP) is intangible and has been legally
protected by patents, copyright, trademarks, and trade secret law. It is used to
ensure that any creative work, such as a person's invention, is legally
protected under the law. Philippines and Globalization increasing
internalization of markets for good and services, the means of production,
financial systems, competition, corporations, technology, and industries. As an
example Jollibee, Universal robina corporation and the potato corner is our
Philippines local brands. Filipino movies in netflix and iflix is our Philippines
global creatives.
Who is in charge office for the registration and granting I.P? Overview of
Intellectual Property office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) is the government
agency mandated to administer and implement state policies on IP strengthen
the protection of IP rights in the country.
Commit to deliver high quality, fast, reliable, affective and efficient services to
promote innovation and encourage the creation, utilization, protection of and
respect for IP.
Why knowledge on IP is important? It is important to know your rights as the
creator of the intellectual property and protect against intellectual property
infringement. To know the rights of others on their IP and to build a culture of
respect on intellectual property. To be part of the whole of society approach
in creating a stronger and effective IP system in the Philippines. The goal of
intellectual property (IP) is to promote advancement and innovation. The
most frequent types of IPRs are patents, copyrights, geographical indications,
trademarks, industrial designs, and trade secrets. Intellectual property rights
(IPR) are the legal protection afforded to some inventions or mental creations.
With today's quick speed of technical, scientific, and medical innovation,
intellectual property has become increasingly important. Intellectual property
rights (IPRs) are becoming increasingly important in many areas of business.
Patents are a source for both legal (ownership, inventors, reassignments,
claims, and so on) and technologically rich previous art (background,
specifications, and so on).Patents are often accompanied by drawings of
electrical, mechanical, or chemical structures, as well as full textual
descriptions of the inventions. A patent is acknowledgement for an invention
that meets the worldwide novelty, non-obviousness, and industrial
applicability criteria. IPR is required for improved invention or creativity
identification, planning, marketing, and rendering, and therefore protection.
However, one potential impediment to their being judged of great value is a
lack of public information. As a result, this review article provides a concise
overview of the notion of intellectual property rights.

Intellectual property (IP) refers to a set of legal rights that protect the works
of the intellect and creative labor. Patents, trademarks, and registered designs
are all forms of intellectual property, as is copyright. Copyright refers to the
rights provided to original work authors or copyright holders. Owners' rights
to regulate how their works are utilized are protected by copyright. In general,
permission must be secured before exploiting copyrighted work. Copyright
protection is only valid for a limited time. Once that term has expired the work
can be utilized without permission or payment. Copyright is the most
prevalent type of intellectual property developed and/or used in the
Department and schools. Examples of information protected by intellectual
property or copyright that school workers may encounter include: Course
materials, Textbooks and other teaching materials, applications and software
podcasts, films, and videos. Everyday uses of copyrighted material in schools
include photocopying, scanning, downloading, screen captures, performances,
and screenings.
