The Hiraya Theater Production succeed the theater show that they perform at Calbayog
City Sport Center on May 8, 2023. The play was played accordingly, they caught my attention to
focus to the whole show. From the confusion to the best part that fill the flow of the show.
The message of the play is to give a second chance. We don’t know what’s behind the
story why that person did that. Just like Tatay Necanor who has an amnesia for a long years and
his didn’t even have a news about him. It’s makes hatred but it’s not his fault, he has reason, he
just need to explain his side an let his family listen to him. That’s the message of Tatlo Buo The
Second Chance.
The show is a wonderful and a meaningful story. It is confusing, because there’s a three
different introduction story of the characters. In the first place, I am confused because I don’t know
what is the connection of the three story that introduced in the show. It’s really caught my attention
to focus the flow of the show. Just like, guessing who’s the father of Steven.
The flow of the story first, introducing the life of Steven Gakang together with her mother.
He asked his mother about the identity of his father, but his mother didn't know either of happed
about his father. Then the story of Dainne Buenavesta, her parents/family leave her and her
grandpa in the philippines. She is a physical therapist who cared Steven in the hospital. Her work
has a purpose, to meet her future husband. An then the story of Tatay Kanor in abroad, he is an
OFW. He has amnesia for 6 years. This is the reason why Steven and his mother don’t have an
update about the status of his father. When Tatay Kanor recovered his memory, he came back in
the Philippines to meet his family. His wife hate him but still loved him, she forgive Tatay Kanor.
The mother and father of Steven planned to surprise him about his father, but the car accident
happened. His mother died and his father introduce himself to Steven. Steven can’t forgive him
easily because of what happened to his mother. But when Tatay Kanor explained, he forgive him
and accept his father.
Steven Galang give a second chance to his father. Before his father died Steven is already
graduated in college. Steven live a happy life with his wife, a physical therapist who care him in the
hospital. This is the story of Tatlo Buo the second chance.
The play will not be successful without the technical team. The technical team is the
supporting aspect of the play, to make the play more effective and feel the presence of the actors.
The lightings is perfect, there’s a spotlight to focus on the character and the ambiance of the
lightings and sounds are perfect. It’s make the play successful and effective.
 My skills and efforts that I really appreciate the most are the acting skills of the actors. The
young Steven Galang and the future Steven Galang who’s being cooperative and play their roles
prfectly. The emotions are perfect, I can feel the emotions that they want to give. A special
appreciation to Tatay Nicanor who is injured, he play his roles seriously like he didn’t have injury. I
didn’t notice that he’s injured until they told us. To Dianne Buenavesta who act emotionaly that
makes me cry during the show, I really feel her emotions. And to the other actors, to the mother of
Steven and to the lolo of Dianne they play they’re roles perfectly and emotionaly. Overall I really
loved they’re acting.
I am thankful that I watched the theater show of Tatlo Buo. I don’t have the regret about the
payment because it’s really worth it. Let may say these, Tatlo Buo is theater show by Hiraya
Theater Production. Chaps Manansala is the writer, director, and one of the actor of the show.
There’s a three story that combined together to become one. The character of the shor are Chap
Manansala as Steven Galang, James Lomahan as Tatay Kanor, BJ Tolits Forbes as young
Steven, and Ethyl Osario as Dianne Buenavesta. They are the main main actors of the show.
There’s a lot of learnings that we should learn, and a realization to realize in the show and
in the reality. Being a child or a parent is treasure, we don’t set a limit to love them. There’s a time
that we misunderstood the person, but let that person explain his/her part then you will realize that
reason behind it. Let’s give second chance!
