What is a Sandwich?
-A sandwich is a food typically consisting of vegetables, sliced cheese or meat,
placed on or between slices of bread, or more generally any dish wherein bread
serves as a container or wrapper for another food type. The sandwich began as a
portable finger food in the Western world, though over time it has become
prevalent worldwide. The 3rd of November marks the National Sandwich Day.
Open Faced Sandwich
-An open sandwich, also known as an open-face/open-faced sandwich, bread baser, bread
platter or tartine, consists of one or more slices of bread with one or more food items on top.

Plain Sandwich
-A plain sandwich is a food typically consisting of vegetables, sliced cheese or meat, placed on
or between slices of bread, or more generally any dish wherein bread serves as a container or
wrapper for another food type. The sandwich began as a portable finger food in the Western
world, though over time it has become prevalent worldwide. The 3rd of November marks the
National Sandwich Day.

Pinwheel Sandwich
-is a small prepared sandwich meant to be eaten at afternoon teatime to stave off hunger until the
main meal.

Grilled Sandwich
-A grilled cheese sandwich is a hot sandwich made with one or more varieties
of cheese (a cheese sandwich) on bread. It is typically prepared by heating cheese between slices
of bread, with a cooking fat such as butter, on a frying pan, griddle, or sandwich toaster, until the
bread browns and the cheese melts. Melt sandwiches are variations using additional ingredients,
such as pepperoni, tuna salad, or ham. Grilled cheese is occasionally made by grilling.
Club Sandwich
-A club sandwich, also called a clubhouse sandwich, is a sandwich of bread (traditionally
toasted), sliced cooked poultry, ham or fried bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. It is often
cut into quarters or halves and held together by cocktail sticks. Modern versions frequently have
two layers which are separated by an additional slice of bread.
