I. Learning Objectives
At the end of the (1 hour) discussion, Grade V students will be able to:
a. Discuss and define Skill Related Physical Fitness;
b. Create and apply uniqueness of each group’s performance.
c. Appreciate and show the importance of Skill Related Physical Fitness;
A. Activity
“Pass the ball”
The teacher will give a ball to students and let them sing a song and while singing the song they
will pass the ball to their classmates and when the teacher says stop the student that has the ball
will perform the given skill related physical fitness.
B. Analysis
a) What have you observe in our activity?
b) Did you find it difficult to perform?
c) Base on the activity that we have, what do you think is our topic for today?
C. Abstraction
Skill-Related Physical Fitness is the basic abilities that people perform skills.
6 SKILL-RELATED COMPONENT:
Agility – The ability for an individual to quickly change directions.
Example: Zigzag test
Speed – The capacity of a person to get from point a to point b related to the distance over the
time it took to travel.
Example: Mountain climbers
Power – It is how fast you could exert maximal force combining speed and strength.
Example: Sergeant Jump Test,
Balance – Refers to the ability to adjust your body to remain in an upright position despite
changes in stance.
Example: Sort Stand Balance test
Coordination – The ability of an individual to achieve well-honed hand-eye or foot-eye
coordination.
Example: Ball Wall Pass
Reaction time – Refers to how quickly a person can respond to external stimulus.
Example: Ruler Drop Test
D. Application
This time, let’s have an activity I will Group you into 2 Groups you will pick 1 candy inside this box,
and the color of your candy corresponds to the Group you belong.
