Purpose of the role

The principal duties of the post-holder will be to effectively manage all aspects of engagement activities in
support of alumni relations and fundraising, as well as being the primary point of contact for alumni and friends.

Based at Gonville and Caius College, Trinity Street, Cambridge, CB2 1TA.
37.5 hrs/week; some weekend and/or evening work may be required in order to

Main duties and Responsibilities
• Acting as first point of contact for alumni, Fellows, staff, students and friends of the College
ENGAGEMENT MANAGEMENT AND DONOR STEWARDSHIP
• Management of the full programme of events in support of alumni relations and fundraising
• Take a creative approach to the annual events programme in support of the development and alumni
relations strategy
• Liaising with alumni volunteers to support them in organising events
• Working closely with Director of Development and Deputy Development Director on donor engagement and
stewardship events
• Working closely with the Conference Office and Catering in meticulous planning and execution of
development and alumni relations events
• Attending events to ensure smooth running; this can vary from attending events in part (e.g. at the
beginning) or wholly
OFFICE MANAGEMENT
• Managing the central, shared Development Office e-mail box
• Co-ordinate regular updates on the Royal Albert Hall events followed by ticket sales and reconciliation of
sales for the Caius Box at the Royal Albert Hall (with support from the Engagement Assistant)
Main duties and Responsibilities
• Managing mass mailings (with support from the Engagement Assistant)
SUPPORTING DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
• Managing Director’s diary, including arranging meetings with donors, potential donors and other key alumni
and friends
• Co-ordinating internal and external meetings
• Representing Director of Development at College’s Heads of Departments meetings
OTHER
• Line managing the Engagement Assistant
• As needed, supporting the Development Office colleagues at particularly busy periods, some of which may
fall at the weekend
