I. Tujuan Pembelajaran
Melalui kegiatan pembelajaran, siswa secara aktif dapat :
1.1 menjelaskan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan
1.2 menyusun teks interaksi interpersonal lisan dan tulis sederhana
menyatakan harapan, doa, dan ucapan selamat atas suatu kebahagiaan dan prestasi, serta
menanggapinya

2.1 Alat dan Bahan
2.1.1 Alat : Buku Paket, HP android (WA group & Google class/forms)
2.1.2 Bahan : Teks lisan dan tulis menyatakan harapan, doa, dan ucapan selamat atas suatu
kebahagiaan dan prestasi, serta menanggapinya.
2.1.3 Pertanyaan
a. What should you do when your friend takes part in a competition or a race? Before he
or she goes for a test or an examination? Why do we need to hope for others’ success
and happiness?
b. What should you do when your friend wins the competition or a race? Or, when your
friend passes his or her exam? Why do we need to congratulate others on their
fortunes and achievements

2.3.1 Kesimpulan Penilaian Pembelajaran
a. To express hopes and wishes to others, we use “hope” or “wish” in a sentence, for
example: I hope you will win the first prize. I wish you all the best. Good luck. dan
semacamnya.
b. To congratulate others on their fortunes and achievement., we say “congratulations”
in a sentence, for example: Congratulations on being the champion of the class! I am
so proud of you! dan semacamnya.
2.3.2 Penilaian
Write a congratulating message for the following situations! Don’t forget to express your
hopes and wishes, too!
a. A friend has just been elected chairperson of OSIS.
b. A cousin has won the first prize for the local dancing competition.
c. A classmate has just passed the acting audition for a television program.

a. Have you ever given any advice to your friend? What for do you advise them? Why do
you need to give your friends suggestions? How do you give advice or suggestions to
your friends? How do you tell other people to do or not to do something? Then, will
your friends just do your advice if they do not know the purpose? Is it important to
explain what it is for?
b. In life, every action has a purpose. Why do you need to tell your purpose or intention
to do something and ask for others’ agreement? Do you do that to make a plan, or to
show your commitment to solve a problem?

a. ‘should’, ‘have to’, ‘must’, or an imperative sentence is used to tell someone to do or
not to do something, for example : We should eat well. We have to eat healthy food.
We must not eat instant food.
b. ‘so that’, ‘in order to’, or ‘to’ are used to state the purpose of doing something, for
example : We should eat well, so that we will not get sick easily. We have to eat
healthy food, in order to be healthy. We must not eat instant food toget rid of serious
diseases.
2.3.2 Penilaian
Write three short talks about telling or asking others to do or not to do a task and state
its purpose or intention!

a. Labels on the packagings of foods, drinks or medicines tells some important facts and
information. The big words tells the name and the brand of the product. The rest
descriptions show the contents or ingredients, the amount, the use(s), the directions
to use, the dosage, the directions to store, and expired date of the products.
b. if we can read the information about the product, we can choose healthy and safe
products, avoid harmful effects, or get the best result.
2.3.2 Penilaian
Find out a label on the packaging of :
a. food
b. drink
c. hand sanitizer
then write some facts of them!

b. A manual consists of three parts: 1) The GOAL (title) of the manuals; 2) The PARTS
stating the things needed to operate the appliance; 3) The METHOD stating the steps
to operate the appliance.

a. Write a recipe of traditional food or drink you know!
b. Find one manual in English! Then rewrite on your workbook using your own words!

a. The verb for an action in progress consists of two words, BE and verb-ing
b. To state an action in progress now, at the moment of speaking, the verb BE is in the
form of is or are, for example : Siti is reading a novel now. The students are speaking
English at the moment.
c. To state an action in progress at a certain point of time in the past, the verb BE is in
the form of was or were, for example: Siti was reading novel when I saw her.
d. To state an action in progress at a certain point of time in the future, the verb BE is in
the form of will+be, for example: Siti will be reading novel, too.
2.3.2 Penilaian
For each situation below, think of THREE possible actions that are/were/will be in
progress at present, at a certain point of time in the past, or at a certain point of time in
the future. Start each of your sentence with “Maybe ...” because they are just what you
think!

in the past, related either to the time when they happened or the present moment.
