1.INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO MILMA MILK INDUSTRY,Palakad

About the company:

In Kerala, Milma is the renowned Brand name of dairy farmer’s initiative

in the cooperative sector. In order to ensure the quality of milk from the initial stage
of procurement, Milma has set up village level bulk milk coolers with the help of
financial aid from the Central Government which helps in improving the quality of
the milk. Bulk Milk Coolers are established at societies for chilling milk to maintain
the bacterial quality by arresting the bacterial growth at lowered temperatures. After
chilling milk is brought to the dairy plants in insulated tankers and is subjected to
various quality tests including platform tests, chemical and microbiological tests
before processing. Once the milk procured from the farmers passes all quality tests,
it is subjected to various processes such as Pasteurization, Homogenization, Product
Diversification, etc.

Learning’s carried over the visit

• In that company we have so many things .

• The workers were gave instructions to us how to check the quality and they
are preserving
• They have explained very clearly how the milk is getting from the farmers.
• They have explained about homogeniser and it’s working In that company,
they are preparing milk,ghee and curd.
• We get some knowledge about the milk processing.
• We have observed the packaging process and they are distributing to the near
by areas.
• They treated us very well.
• We observed that the how they are preparing milk products.

About the company :

✓ Aavin is the trademark of Tamilnadu Co-operative Milk Producers

Federation Limited, a Tamilnadu based milk producers union.Aavin union
is a Government union which was founded in the year 1958.
✓ It is a Tamil Nadu-based milk producer's union. Milk is procured from the
Village level societies twice a day.
✓ The milk cost payment is made on the basis of a quality test which
consists of Fat and Solid Non-fat content.
✓ It is one of the 17 Milk Procurement Unions Plants across 30 districts in
the State of Tamil Nadu.
✓ Aavin Dairy is networked with around 12000 Milk Producer's
Cooperative societies, with daily milk production of the order of 25 to 30
lakh liters The company set up first dairy plant in Chennai.
✓ In 1981, the company developed ‘Anand’ pattern by Dr. Kurien. In
20172018, the per capita availability of milk in Tamil Nadu has increased
from
169 gm/day in 1993-94 to 268 gm/day in 2017-2018, due to increase in
Milk production, the rise in per capita income, changing life style, food
habits and export opportunities contributed to the rise in the demand
for milk and milk products.

About the industry :

Kovai classic industry is the well known industry specialized in

manufacturing of “AGRICULTURAL MACHINERIES” and “IMPLEMENTS”.

✓ It is incorporated in the year of 2010.

✓ Their company have well trained quality control personnel, were working in
each sector.

Learning’s carried over from the visit:

✓ We have learned about their working process of agricultural machineries and

implements.

✓ In the industry, we have learned about the working of power weeder,chaff

cutter, agricultural shredder, milking machine,etc…
