REFLECTION # 3
It is said that because teachers are overloaded with work, they usually frown on
the conduct of research. Reflect on the consequences of this attitude. What can be
done to prevent this?
Yet as a future educator, I think that every teacher needs to conduct research.
You will be able to evaluate both yourself and your students when you are educating
them by conducting some research in your classroom or at school.
Despite having a ton of work on her plate, I do not think that a teacher should be
exempt from doing her own research or adopting research, since doing so will
undoubtedly benefit everyone interested in your field. In my opinion, completing your
research is one of your greatest achievements.
The fact that educational research covers a wide range of topics, such as
teaching and learning, curriculum and assessment, the cognitive and affective needs of
students, cultural and socioeconomic aspects of schools, and many other issues that
are seen as potentially useful in improving schools, should not deter someone from
conducting their own research despite having a ton of work on their plate.
Research is essential since it will direct you or assist you in dealing with your
students and becoming a good and efficient teacher.
Teachers have a lot of work, reports, and documents that they need to complete
for the government, yet their benefits are insufficient, and they also receive a meager
wage. Every teacher should have their expenditures covered by the government, which
would relieve them of some of the financial strain they experience while pursuing their
master's or doctoral degrees or writing their master's or doctoral theses.
