THE PLAN

1. Apply first one coat of Black Primer Chaos Black (citadel).

2. Start sketching in greyscale the first light scheme, concentrating clear greys
and whites in the light areas , leaving medium greys and blacks in the dark
parts. This is the first decision , determinate the main light source. In this case
is a zenith diagonal one.

3. This decision generate a shadow part in the bottom left.


FIRST STEPS

1. Lets start painting with Mourfang Brown (citadel) in the medium dark tones
schematized in the previous greyscale work.

2. As you can see the medium-light tones are without cover, thats because we
need them for conserve the prebase for the next step .
With a clear prebase the next tones will adquire more luminosity variations.
FIRST STEPS

1. In this step we have to cover that medium-light areas with Skrag Brown
(citadel) for start sketching the skin with colors.

2. Start integrating both colors in the skin surface.

3. Also paint the fur color base with Gal Vorbak Red (citadel).
FIRST SHADOWS

1. Add some Purple Shadow (VMC; Nocturna) in the darkest parts of the
miniature and less exposed areas according with the first plan.

This step increase the shadow info on the model and the main volumes.
Also base with this color the soft part of the ears and the lips.

2. Lets paint the bone medium tones with Forest Skin (VMC; Nocturna) , and
paint the shadows with a mix of Forest Skin (VMC) and Purple Shadow in 1:1.
VOLUME DEFINITION 1

1.Lets start defining the skin adding Bestigor Flesh (citadel) mixed with Skrag
Brown (citadel) to the light areas , its important that the brushtroke has to
consider with the musculature direction.

2. We also start illuminating the red fur with Jokaero Orange (citadel) leaving
the first base color present in the shadows.
Sketch the dark areas like the tongue or the leg bottom with Dark Sea Blue
(VMC) to force the contrast.
VOLUME DEFINITION 2

1. Keep illuminating the skin with Bestigor Flesh (citadel) emphasize lights in
the face, ears and upper musculature areas. Now we base the beard addons
with Dark Sea Blue (VMC).

2. We apply a red soft filter in the fur with Primary Red (Scale 75 Artist).

3. Also prepare the wolf skin with Daemonette Hide in the shadow parts and a
mix of Daemonette Hide with Sunny Skintone and Offwhite in 2:1:1 proportions
for the lights .
VOLUME DEFINITION 3

1. Illuminate the skin with a mix of Bestigor Flesh and Sunny Skin tone in 1:1
proportions concentrating the light in smaller area.*

2. Emphasize a clipping light right in the countour of the darker parts (Under
the breast and the arm muscles).*

3. Paint the leather with Burnt Umber (VMC) and illuminate it with Beige
Brown (VMC)*

4. Lets base the ropes with Steel Legion Drab(citadel) and Purple Shadow.
SKIN AND FUR BALANCE

1.Filter the skin with Sigismund Yellow Clear (Citadel Air) y Lahmian Medium
(citadel) in 1:1 proportions. (This paint satinates the surface in brush
aplication, so we use Lamian Medium (citadel) for reduce the brightness)*

2. Filter the fur again with Primary Red (Scale 75 Artist).

3. Define the microvolumes of the wolf skin with the mix of Sunny Skintone
and Off White in 1:1, and 2:1 proportions. Also balance the shadows with
Daemonette Hide (citadel).

4. Illuminate the bones and the ropes with Usabti Bone (citadel).*
SKIN AND FUR BALANCE 2

1.Illuminate again the skin with Bestigor Flesh (citadel) and Sunny Skintone
(VMC) without cover the last filter in 1:2 proportions, then illuminate only with
Sunny Skintone *.

2. Darken the lip, tongue , ear area with Screamer Pink (citadel).

3. Countour the fur shadows with Purple Shadow (VMC) and Dark Sea Blue
(VMC). Illuminate the hair strands with a mix of Jokaero Orange and Sunny
Skintone in 1:1 and 1:3 proportions.*

4. Start highlight the bones with Usabti Bone (citadel).


LAST DETAILS

1.Clean the skin transitions filtering again softly with Sigismund Yellow Clear
(Citadel Air) y Lahmian Medium in 1:1 proportions for increase saturated
areas. Also filter the fur with Pyroclast Orange Clear ( Citadel Air) y Lahmian
Medium (citadel) in 1:1 proportions too.

2. We warm the wolf skin light tones with more Sunny Skin tone (VMC)*
Illuminate the bones with Screaming Skull (citadel) and Off White (VMC)*I
Finish the leathers highlighting with Beige Brown (VMC), Kislev Flesh (citadel)
in 1:1 proportions and add Sunny Skin tone to the mix.*

3. Paint the eye with a mix of Storvermin Fur (citadel) and Off white in 1:1
proportions, then we paint the iris with Dark Sea Blue (VMC) filtered with
Kabalite Green (citadel) , add a point of black in the pupil and a little bright
of White in the eyeball
SILEX BLADE

1. Once the blade is based in Dark Sea Blue (VMC) let's sketch the illuminated
area with Stormvermin fur (citadel).

2. Up next, we define the volumes, cracks and scratches with a mix of Storm-
vermin fur (citadel) and Sunny Skin tone in a 3:1 proportion.

3. We add more Sunny Skin tone to the previous mix to stablish the main light
zone with a 1:2 proportion.

4. For the final steps we use Off White for the final highlights and extra
scratches and marks.
Also we will contour the elements near the blade (horn and skull).
BASE

1. Prime the base with Chaos Black (citadel).


2. Greyscale work.
3. We paint the main colors of the base; Stormvermin Fur (citadel) and Dark Sea
Blue (VMC) for the ground. Also paint the grass with Castellan Green (citadel) and
Loren Forest (citadel) . For the woods use Forest Skin (VMC; Nocturna).

4. Illuminate the shaded area with Stormvermin fur (citadel) and the lighten one
with a mix of Stormvermin fur and Sunny Skin tone (VMC) in 1:1 proportions.
Glaze the grass area with Warpstone Glow (citadel) and highlight the woods and
ropes with Karak Stone (citadel).

5. Illuminate the shaded ground with Karak Stone (citadel), the grass with a mix of
Warpstone Glow and Primary Yellow ( Scale 75 Artist). Also highlight the clear
ground area with a mix of Stormvermin fur (citadel )and Sunny Skintone in a 1:2.

6. Increase the general constrast forcing lights and shadows with Dark Sea Blue
and Sunny Skintone.
