6. REPORT ON INSPECTION/SUPERVISION

STOWAGE PLAN & HOLDS CONDITION

The material was programmed to be loaded in the hold Nr. 4. All were in good condition and clean.
The hold Nr.4 was load for Nanjing, China.

LOADING OPERATION

The cargo was loaded using a conveyor belt feeder located inside the covered warehouse. Then
the material was transported through the conveyor belt at average rate of 1,700 MT per hour. No
agglomeration of the product was observed during loading operations.

WEIGHING
As usual at this port, weighing was attended by using a Ramsey Weightometer with a fully
electronic integrator.

Due to safety procedures, terminal don’t authorize our Surveyor to inspect loading conveyor belt
and whole transfer stations. However, according Punta Chungo´s port responsible personnel,
inform that according their procedures approved by Minera Los Pelambres whole installation was
cleaned before to commence loading operation.

SAMPLING

Minera Los Pelambres subcontracts sampling operations and controls at this port to a local
company named AHK (Alfred H. Knight).

The collection of samples was achieved by using an automatic sampler, cutting directly from the
flow of concentrates at the transfer station located in belt Nr. CV 120, previous to weightometer
station in two stages.

According indicated by mining´ surveyor Alfred Knight , the primary sampler cutter collects a
sample (increment) every 50 wmt, which weights between 100 and 110 kilos, By each 500 wmt 10
increments are taken, this increments flow into a secondary sampler collecting samples
(increment) of 600 gr, each 6 seconds.

The final sample per lot (11/15 Kg) is received inside a strong polyethylene bag, tape-sealed inside
an additional bag and with the identification card placed between the two bags. The outside bag
is also tape-sealed and then sent to the AHK Sample Preparation lab located at Punta Chungo
terminal, At Punta Chungo Port.

MOISTURE DETERMINATIONS

At the AHK sample preparation lab, enough numbered stainless steel trays (33x21x3.5 cm.) are
tare weighed to receive each lot's sample. Samples are firstly homogenized inside its bags, then
spread over one 16” x 20” stainless steel tray where, using a spoon JIS 5, for each loading lot, two
fractions of 1 Kg. approx. each are collected, weighed an then placed in two stainless steel trays
for drying (approx. 2 cm. layer for each sample).

The trays are then placed in the drying oven, which is set at a temperature of 105°C,+/- 5°C unit
reaching constant weight. Drying time took about 5 hours; after this, each tray was weighed for
complete moisture determination calculation.

Equipment used for this operation was:

QUALITY SAMPLES PREPARATION

Once drying process was finished, the two trays for each lot were pulverized separately using
automatic pulverizer equipment during 30 seconds to assure the whole sample is under 100 ASTM
mesh. Then each portion were mixed conform the corresponding quality samples, then whole
samples homogenized in a canvas sheet and placed in a aluminized bags, heat sealed and placed in
paper envelopes provided by AHK. Samples were sealed by United Surveys Chile Surveyor.

 Two set of samples plus two composites direct to CCIC ANHUI

 Two set of samples plus two composites to Chilean customs
 Two set of samples plus two composites to AHK laboratories
 Two set of samples plus two composites to Minera Los Pelambres.
