Art Positive
Affect on
Children
Intro ‘The arts take us to another world where we can explore our
thoughts and feelings free of fear of stigma or judgement. They
help children and young people to express things that they

duction
sometimes cannot say in conversation, and to celebrate feelings
and thoughts that previously troubled them. The creative process
can also be a curative process.’ Says professor Peter Fonagy.
In an article was published by the Sydney Health Center,
Lisa Philipes says that art has great impact on children
confident and creativity. Art has the ability to widen
children imagination and make them trust themselves
and learn from their failures.
Problem solving skills
According to a report by Americans for
Arts, art education strengthens problem-
solving and critical-thinking skills. The
experience of making decisions and
choices in the course of creating art
carries over into other parts of life.
Cultural Awareness
In an article, Grace Hwang Lynch says As we live in an increasingly
diverse society, the images of different groups in the media may also
present mixed messages. “If a child is playing with a toy that
suggests a racist or sexist meaning, part of that meaning develops
because of the aesthetics of the toy—the color, shape, texture of the
hair,” says Freedman. Teaching children to recognize the choices an
artist or designer makes in portraying a subject helps kids
understand the concept that what they see may be someone’s
interpretation of reality.
Summery
Searching the internet for positive affect of art on children showed a
lot results. One is an article from pbs.org states that art brings plenty
of benefits on children. It helps them develope language as they
going to learn the names of shapes and objects. art as well improve
their decision making and motor skills where they going to learn how
to hold a paintbrush howb to use it. Academic performance is
something that will have a great impact as well, number shows
children who have been taught art had better scores in math and
science.
