Today I will tell you a story about our first Vice President of Indonesia.
Yup, He is Bung Hatta, and this is a story of Bung Hatta when he was at school.

Once upon a time, Our Country Indonesia, was colonialized by the Dutch. At that time the
people lived so poorly and suffer. They had to work so hard but they didn’t get any payment, no
salary, no money!
At that time, in Bukittinggi, a city in West Sumatera, there was a boy and his name is Hatta.
Hatta had a dream. He loves Indonesia so much. He doesn’t want Indonesian people to be
suffer, he wants them to be happy. He wants Indonesia to become an independent country.
Say No to Colonialism!
So, to make his dream come true, Hatta studies very hard. He loves to go to school and his
hobby is reading books. Therefore, he become a very smart student and he could continue his
education abroad to Netherlands. He is very impressive, right?
Hatta also likes to write. He likes to write about ideas. Hatta’s famous speech is named
“INDONESIA MERDEKA’ or “Independent Indonesia”. This speech inspired Indonesian people
to get up and fight the Dutch and become independent. MERDEKA!
