Currently, there are six United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural

Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage sites in the Philippines: the Baroque Churches
of San Agustin, Santa Maria, Paoay, and Miagao, the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park,
the Rice Terraces of the Cordillera , the historic city of Vigan, the Puerto Princesa
Subterranean River National Park, and the Mount Hamiguitan Range Wildlife
Sanctuary.
These places are beautiful but when I see the problems that heritage sites are
facing like Palawan, such as coral bleaching, due to the effect of climate change. The
cordillera mountain range to visit the rice terraces. As many tourists visit for
photography, there are also many problems faced by farmers here aside from the
irrigation problem, farmers also have difficulty getting a good harvest because of the
pest worms that take the nutrients of the cultivated land, And Vigan Ilocos Sur which is
also included in the New 7 Wonder Cities of the World. Among the many old houses in
Ilocos Sur, not all have been preserved especially the houses that were damaged by
the typhoon and abandoned by the owners.
The most well-known problem of cultural heritage sites includes archaeological
looting, destruction of cultural sites, and the theft of works of art from churches and
museums around the world are testimonies of the destruction of cultural heritages. The
best way to preserve our cultural heritage, whatever it is, is to share it with others. The
cultural heritage and natural history of a country has a very high value and uniqueness.
It is an identity that can be introduced globally.
Cultural heritage keeps us connected with our traditions, customs, religion,
beliefs and community identities. It is also what gives each community and the country
on the whole, its individual identity. Cultural heritage is also something that gives the
people a sense of unity and helps them understand their origins.
As a source of identity, heritage is a valuable factor for empowering local communities
and enabling vulnerable groups to participate fully in social and cultural life. It can also
provide time-tested solutions for conflict prevention and reconciliation.
