Division has reactivated the Junior Police Barkada Kontra Droga which was
implemented by former mayor Arturo Radaza and was continued during the
time of the latter’s wife, now Representative Paz Radaza.
The former lady mayor in her speech during the event said that she is thankful
to DepEd for its reactivation as they see the urgent need for groups who will
look into the safety and security of the pupils and students inside the schools
and even as they leave the premises if in time normal classes will soon be
open.
Those tapped as junior police are presidents and vice presidents of the
Supreme Student Government of the city’s ten school divisions.
Paz said that the junior police program is a development of the youth and
instill in them their important part in the maintenance of peace and order, and
in nation building in general as well as incorporating in the learning process of
the youth in general these values and responsibility and be able to prepare
them for their future.
Paz believed that by tapping groups and communities, the children, the youth
and the adults in the ground level development will definitely be felt.
She said that the reactivation is timely as the city is continuously developing,
its population is increasing by an average of four percent annually, making it
one of the fastest growing cities in the region.
“Kining junior police dili lamang mao ang pagresponde sa krimen sulod sa
eskwelahan, o pagseguro sa seguridad sa mga kabataan. Kun dili apil na niini
ang pag-train sa inyo unsaon pag-handle sa mga stressful nga mga situation
o apil na kini gitawag og therapeutic communication,” Paz said.
She said that the reactivation of the junior police is not just the rebirth of this
group but also the reaffirmation of their commitment for the youth and for the
peace and order of the city.
“Atong giila ang ilang papel ug ilang kapasidad nga naa silay mahimo alang
sa kalinaw ug kahapsay sa atong syudad. In fact, our youth, our students are
in the best position in the maintenance of peace and order especially in our
schools and among their peers and fellow students,” said the lady legislator in
her speech during the event that was held at Pajo National High School
covered court.

teachers, advisers, and partners from relevant agencies, are abled and
dependable to police themselves and help their fellow students away from
conflict
