Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity
Introduction:

Good Morning Everyone! Good Morning ma’am!

May we all stand, __________ lead the prayer. Students are expected to
stand up and start a prayer

Our Father, Who art in

heaven, hallowed be Thy
name; Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven. Give us
this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against
us; and lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us
The president will announce the absent from evil.

How are you today class? We’re feeling good ma’am.

A. Reviewing This morning, we will discuss a new topic, but
previous lesson or before that let us all recall what we have
presenting the new discussed yesterday.
lesson
Avogadro's Law, which states that equal volumes
of gases, at the same temperature and pressure,
contain an equal number of molecules, has
several important applications in our day-to-day
living.
1. What is the mathematical equation for 1. Avogadro's Law is stated
Avogadro’s law? mathematically as follows:
Vn=k, where V is the
volume of the gas, n is the
number of moles of the gas,
and k is a proportionality
constant.
2. Where is the Avogadro’s law based? 2. Avogadro's law is based
on the concept of the mole,
which is a unit used to
measure the amount of
substance
B. Establishing a To energize the students, the teacher will let them The students are expected to

the class. The teacher will show 4 pictures each

round and the students must guess the word the
picture is trying to depict. Everyone is given 30
seconds to play the game.
C. Presenting The teacher will show a picture to the class;

D. Discussing new Before we proceed in discussing our new topic

concepts and for today, We will going to have an activity first.
practicing new I will divide the class into three groups. Group
skills #1 (Engage) 1and 2 one group. Groups 3 and 4 one group and
groups 5 and 6 one group also.

Today’s activity is that you will going to make a

representation of electron configuration. Each
group has to choose 2 different elements. You
have to decide what will you make based only Students are expected to
from your group members assignment Bring your participate
art material with your group. Be creative in
making your representations. After which you
will present you work in class by explaining the
representation based on your own understanding.

Your work will be judged according to the

following criteria:
Correctness-40%
Creativity-30%
Presentation-30%
Total-100%

I will give you 15 minutes to do your activity.

Students are expected to
You can start your work now.
start their work as per
teacher’s instruction.

1. Yes ma’am! It’s all about

1. Based on the activity you performed, do you
electron configuration.
have an idea on the topic that we will be having
today?

E. Discussing new In order for the students to grasp the idea of

concepts and electron configuration, the teacher will integrate a
practicing new video from https://www.youtube.com/watch?
v=8C1rEHa29Ck
skills #2 (Explore)

1. Describe what is electron configuration based on

the video you have watched. 1. Electron Configuration is
the process of distributing
the electrons in orbitals of
each energy levels of an
atom.
2. What are the four types of orbitals?
2. s orbital, p orbital, d
orbital and f orbital
F. Developing Electron Configuration is the process of
mastery (Explain) distributing the electrons in orbitals of each
energy levels of an atom represented by the
model:
nl# = 1s2
Where,
n= a positive number that refers to the main
energy level
l= can be s, p, d, f ; which indicates the type of
orbital
#= an exponent that tells the number of electrons
in an orbital.
There are 7 main energy levels.

Orbital-is a region around the nucleus where there

is high probability of finding an electron. 1 orbital
can “house” a maximum of 2 electrons. A filled
orbital can be represented as

Where the box represents the orbital and the

arrows be the two electrons. There are 4 types of
orbitals. These are the:
s orbital - s stands fore “sphere” - ≤ 2 electrons -
p orbital - p stands for “principal” - ≤ 6 electrons
d orbital - d stands for “diffuse” - ≤ 10
electrons -
f orbital - d stands for “fundamental ” - ≤ 14
electrons –
Degenerate Orbitals - are orbitals of the same
type of energy but differ in orientation. There are
degenerate p orbitals namely px , py and pz which
have the same energies but differ only in
orientation.

Rules to observe in
writing the electron configuration of an element
1. Aufbau Principle (Building up) - states that
electrons are added to an atom one at a time
starting with the lowest energy orbital until all
electrons have been placed in their appropriate
orbitals. The Mnemonic Code shows the
arrangement of orbitals in increasing energy
levels.

G. Finding Electron configuration plays a fundamental role

practical in understanding the behavior and properties of
applications of atoms and molecules, and it has various
concepts and skills applications in our day-to-day lives.
in daily living 1. Why is it important for the scientist to 1. The reason why electron
(Elaborate) determine the importance of electron configuration is necessary
configuration? all because it plays an
important role in chemical
reaction. Electron
configuration determines
how atoms interact and
bond with each other to
form molecules. It
influences the chemical
reactivity and stability of
substances.
H. Making  Electrons occupy energy levels or shells around

levels.
 Each energy level can hold a specific number of
electrons:
 The first energy level can hold a maximum of 2
electrons.
 The second energy level can hold a maximum of 8
electrons.
 The third energy level can hold a maximum of 18
electrons.
 The fourth energy level can hold a maximum of
32 electrons.
 The fifth energy level can hold a maximum of 50
electrons.
 The sixth energy level can hold a maximum of 72
electrons.
 The seventh energy level can hold a maximum of
98 electrons.
