*What have you learned from the video you chose?

Based on my understanding, the concept of nation is quite complicated, with numerous interpretations
and definitions. I've learned that a nation is a huge group of people who share common characteristics.
History, culture, and language are a few examples. They may also include people who share a common
area, territory, or country. Any of these aspects that individuals hold in common serve as a foundation
for unity, uniting them into a bigger group that forms the foundation and understanding of a nation. On
the other hand, Ethnologists and sociologists believe that the concept of nation is significantly more
complex. They also believe that understandings of country as a concept include linguistic or language-
based understandings, ethnic understandings, cultural understandings, religious understandings,
geographic understandings, spiritual understandings, and political understandings. They argue that the
nation is essentially an expression of a person's soul; in other words, nation is the basic essence of a
group of people and that a nation is a group of people who are bonded by a common element. Many,
however, claim that nation comes primarily from a sense of belonging, which also makes sense given
that individuals are part of a bigger group, which seems to be the basis of belonging, and therefore
the nation emerges mainly from that sense of belonging.

*In your assessment, are Filipinos nationalistic?

We all love our nation, and every day is the perfect moment to demonstrate our patriotism through
action. Regardless of our political opinions, perhaps now is the greatest moment to start focusing on
what each of us can do for the Philippines so that we can move forward and achieve change more
quickly. Our country is blessed because, no matter what issues or disasters we face, we always manage
to rise above them and go forward. To contribute something back to your nation, you don't have to be in
government holding power or belong to a platform wielding influence: you just have to do the best you
can with the most proficiency and passion. The collective effort of people carrying out their
responsibilities as devoted citizens, focused on a national vision for the greater good rather than
individual vested interests, will undoubtedly result in a far brighter future for the country.

You don't have to be in government holding power or belong to a platform having influence to
contribute anything back to your country: you just have to do the best you can with the most proficiency
and passion. The combined effort of people executing their duty as devoted citizens, focused on a
national vision for the greater good rather than individual vested interests, would undoubtedly result in
a far stronger future for the nation.

We all love our nation, and every day is the perfect moment to demonstrate our patriotism through
