CLASSROOM

RULES
1. Do not do unto others, what you do not want others to do unto you.
(RESPECT)
2. No cell phones allowed. (CONFISCATE)
3. English-only policy. (DEDUCTION OF 1 POINT)
4. Refrain from talking unless you are told otherwise. (
5. Latecomers will automatically sit at the back. (SHALL SEE ME AFTER
CLASS, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL BE MARKED AS ABSENT)
In Geometry, we have learned different
types of polygons, such as triangles,
quadrilaterals, pentagons, and so on.
Based on the number of sides, polygons
are classified into different types. A
polygon with four sides are called a
quadrilateral.
Mechanics of the game:
divide the class into two
each group will be given 2 minutes to guess the words
chose one representative from its member to guess the
word
the remaining members will have to act it out silently
the group who has the highest number of words
guessed is the winner
the winner will receive an auto +10 points for today’s
performance task.
Grade 9 Mathematics
Learning
Objective
Determine the condition that
01 makes a quadrilateral a
parallelogram.
It is a quadrilateral with
two pairs of parallel sides.
What is a
Parallelogram
B C

A D

AB is parallel to CD
BC is parallel to DA
All parallelograms are
quadrilaterals, but not all
quadrilaterals are parallelograms.
Six Properties of
Parallelogram
Here are the six important properties of
parallelograms that you
have to know:
1.

Opposite sides are

parallel
2.

Opposite sides are

congruent
3.

Opposite angles are

congruent
4.

Consecutive angles are

supplementary
5.

The diagonals of
parallelogram bisects
each other.
6.

Each diagonal bisect the

parallelogram into two
congruent
triangles.
RECTANGLE
Opposite sides are equal.
Opposite sides parallel.
All angles equal of 90 degrees.
Diagonals equal and bisect
each other
RHOMBUS
Sides are equal.
Opposite sides parallel.
Opposite angles equal.
Diagonals equal and
perpendicular bisectors.
SQUARE
All sides equal
Opposite sides parallel.
All angles equal of 90 degrees.
Diagonals is equal and
perpendicular
Let's
Practice!
Identify whether the figure is a
parallelogram.
Which of the two figures below is a parallelogram?

CONCEPT
CHECK!
Which of the two figures below is a parallelogram?

DID YOU This is not a parallelogram

because it has only one pair of
parallel sides.

GET IT
RIGHT?
This is a parallelogram
because it has two pairs of
parallel sides.
1.

In a quadrilateral ABCD, the side AB

is equal to the side DC. Also, the side
AB is parallel to the DC.
2.

Determine the conditions that would

support that quadrilateral ABCD is a
parallelogram
APPLICATION
Describe the shown photo based on its
condition and properties.
Opposite sides are parallel
and congruent.
Opposite sides are parallel
and congruent, and two
consecutive angles are
supplementary.
Opposite angles are
congruent.
Diagonals bisect each other,
and opposite angles are
congruent
What is the
most important
thing you have
learned about
parallelograms?
Summary:
A parallelogram is a
quadrilateral with two pairs of
parallel sides.
Opposite sides are equal in
length, and opposite angles are
equal.
It can also be defined as a
rhombus, rectangle, or square.
