Sub: _ For considering augmentation of 220/132 KV, 160 MVA Tr. in place
of 100 MV A Transformer proposal at 220 KV GSS Udyog Vihar
Sri Gangnagar in Tentative Augmentation Plan for the FY 2023-24.

On the above cited subject and references it is submitted that Executive Engineer (220 KV
GSS) Udyogvihar Sriganganagar submitted Transformer augmentation proposal of 220/132 KV 160
MVA transformer in place of existing 2201132KV, 100 MVA transformer (declared defective due to
internal fault) was sent for consideration in Augmentation Plan for the FY 2023-24 but as per the
above referred letter 0.1736 Dated 19.12.2022, the Transformer augmentation proposal of 160 MVA
transformer at 220 KV GSS Udyog Vihar Sri Ganganagar has not been included in Tentative
Augmentation Plan for the FY 2023-24 .
Executive Engineer (220 KV GSS) Udyogvihar Sriganganagar stated that due to below
mentioned reasons the augmentation of220/132 KV 160 MVA transformer is urgently required.
1). The Peak load of220 KV STPS-Suratgarh lines CKT I & II recorded above 600 Amp & that will
further increase as per load growth and Peak load of 220 KV STPS-Udyog Vihar line is recording
App. 400 Amp. To reduce the loading of 220 KV STPS-Suratgarh lines CKT-I & II load of 220 KV
GSS Udyog Vihar is to be increased for which Load of 132 KV GSS Goluwla (Approx. 35 MVA) is
to be shifted from 220 KV GSS Hanumangarh to 220 KV GSS Udyog Vihar Sri Ganganagar during
Peak load season for which construction of 132 KV Sadulshahar-Goluwala line is in progress and may
be completed up to Jan.2023.
2). For the year 2020-21 & 2021-22 Load of 132 KV Sri Ganganagar diverted from 220 KV GSS
Udyog Vihar Sri Ganganagar to 220 KV GSS Padampur due to 132 KV Udyog Vihar- Sri Ganganagar
Line overloading.Presently Approx. 40MVA load of 132 KV GSS Sri Ganganagar is feeding from
220 KV GSS Padampur through 132 KV Padampur -Tatarsar-Sri Ganganagar Line (The 132 KV
Padampur-Tatarsar- Sri Ganganagar line is constructed in 1983(approx. 40 Years old)& facing dense
encroachment problem under the line and resulting in frequent line tripping. Looking to the loading &
reliable power supply recently construction of 132 KV Udyog Vihar - Sri Ganganagar line(II Ckt) is
sanctioned & to be constructed shortlythat will increase Approx. 40 MVA load on 220/132 KV
Transformer at Udyog Vihar.

3).132 KV Udyog Vihar-Chak Maharajka (Railway) feeder has been sanctioned for electrification of
Hanumangarhh- Sri Ganganagar section of railway that will increase approx. 10 MVA.

4). Approx. 15 MVA load of 132 KV GSS Sangria is shifted from 132 KV GSS Sangria to 132 KV
GSS Sadulshahar in October 2022, resulting in 15 MVA increase ofload on 220 1132 KV Transformer
at Udyog Vihar Sri Ganganagar . Total expected increase of load at 220/132 KV Transformers at 220
KV GSS Udyog Vihar Sri Ganganagaris 35 MVA+15 MVA+ 40 MVA+IO MVA =100 MVA.
Looking to above circumstances it is requested to arrange to add the Transformer
augmentation proposal of 220/132, 160 MVA transformer in place of 100 MVA Tr. at 220 KV GSS
Udyog Vihar Sri Ganganagar in Augmentation Plan for the FY 2023-24 .

SJdulshahJr in October 2022, resulting in 15 MVA increase of load on 220/132 KV Transformer
at Udyog Villar Sri Ganganagar ,
Total expected increase of load at 220/132 KV Transformers at 220 I(V GSSUdyog
Vihar Sri Ganganagar is 35 MVA+15 MVA+ 40 MVA+l0 MVA =100 MVA.
So it is requested to arrange to add the Transformer augmentation proposal of
160 MVA transformer at 220 KV GSSUdyog Vihar Sri Ganganagar in Augmentation Plan for the
FY 2023-24 ,
