CHAPTER I: THE PROBLEM


INTRODUCTION

Eggplant, also known as aubergine or guinea squash, it is a nutritious and

delicious vegetable that is used in a variety of dishes. It is high in fiber, vitamins, and

minerals and can be grilled, roasted, fried, or baked. It is often grown as an annual and

has an erect bushy stem loaded with spines. The leaves are oblong and somewhat

lobed. The pendant violet flowers are solitary and are about 5 cm (2 inches) across. The

fruit is a huge egg-shaped berry with a glossy surface that ranges in color from dark

purple to red, pink, yellowish, or white and can be striped. (Petruzzello, 2023)

In terms of fiber, copper, manganese, B-6, and thiamine, an eggplant serving can

satisfy at least 5% of a person's daily needs for each of these nutrients. Other vitamins

and minerals are also present.

Furthermore, eggplants contain phenolic chemicals that function as antioxidants.

Antioxidants are molecules that aid the body in the elimination of free radicals, which

are unstable molecules that can harm cells if they accumulate in excessive quantities.

Antioxidant-rich foods may help prevent a variety of ailments. Anthocyanins, such as

nasunin, lutein, and zeaxanthin, are antioxidants found in eggplants. Eggplants' fiber,

potassium, vitamin C, vitamin B-6, and antioxidants all promote heart health.

Polyphenols found in eggplant may aid in cancer prevention. Anthocyanins and

chlorogenic acid protect cells from free radical damage. (Butler, 2023)
Aside from the nutritious benefits of the eggplant, it is also a famous fruit that

usually grows in tropical countries like the philippines. Eggplant is known in the

Philippines because it’s one of the ingredients of some famous Filipino dishes like

omellete eggplant, pinakbet ( mix vegetable ), paksiw ( fish cooked in vinegar ), fried

eggplant, and etc.

With that, the researcher came up with the idea of making another dish or

product with the use of eggplant as one of its main ingredients, that will cater the

satisfaction of the Filipinos and customers.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This feasibility study is intended to evaluate the feasibilty of selling

“ Aubergine ( Eggplant ) Pancake “ that specifically aims to evaluate and analyze the following:

1. What are the materials that can be used to make Aubergine ( Eggplant )

Pancake?

2. What would the product taste like?

3. Is the product acceptable by the community?

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

It is not easy to start a business. It is difficult to start a lucrative business in a

short amount of time since it takes a long time to generate thoughts and ideas.

A feasibility study will help us in determining which businesses should be constructed in

the community. It aids in determining strengths and weaknesses as well as preparing

for future problems. This research will provide an opportunity to learn about and explore

the world of entrepreneurship. It enables one to comprehend, operate, and manage

such situations in the corporate sector. To summarize, this study broadens our

understanding of the realities of starting your own business.


SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY

The feasibility study gives us the opportunity to discover and explore the

corporate world. It provides us with the opportunity to learn new management and

marketing abilities.

Obstacles are unavoidable; as we progress through life, we will confront certain

difficulties. These difficulties limit the scope of this investigation. In order for this study to

be effective, ideas, time, planning, trials, and blunders must all be considered.

Predicting or anticipating the problems and hurdles that this study may confront

is necessary and beneficial in order to adequately prepare.

This research only looks at the use of eggplant in the creation of Aubergine

(Eggplant) Pancakes. This research will be carried out at Turac National High School in

the academic year 2022-2023.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

Eggplant- Also known as aubergine, is the purple egg-shaped fruit of a tropical Old

World plant that is consumed as a vegetable. It is a member of the nightshade family

and bears the eggplant fruit. (Oxford, 2023)


Pancake- A thin, flat cake of batter that is typically fried and rotated in a pan. Pancakes

are typically consumed with syrup or folded up with a filling. (Oxford, 2023)

CHAPTER II: MARKETING ASPECT

This section will discuss in detail our product as well our commitment to

customers and how it will be able to achieve them.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The aubergine “ eggplant “ pancake , is a pancake with eggplant. The word

aubergine is the other term for eggplant. The people or consumers will be curious about

the product when hear the name that will make them buy to taste the product out of

curiosity, then it will be eventually known after trying the product especially if the product

suited the consumers taste.

COMPARISON OF PRODUCT WITH THE COMPETITOR

Aubergine pancake is a healthy snack and breakfast that you can enjoy anytime

you want. Aubergine pancake is not the ordinary pancake you want, it is mixed with

grated eggplant that has a lot of health benefits that will to make your body healthy

while you enjoy eatingthe aubergine pancake.

DEMAND ANALYSIS

The demand will help us to determine the trends of my products. Analyzing the

demand thoroughly will give the projection of total number of quality each product that

we going to produce daily.


SUPPLY ANALYSIS

I ensure that i will provide satisfaction for our dear customers to buy our product.

We laso build good relationship and quality services to reach the expectation of our

daily customers for them to patronized my product.

PROMOTIONAL STRATEGIES

Promotion is one way to attract your prospective customers' attention. As a

beginner in the business, I will use self advertisement/promotion to promote my product

before the opening of the store to gather a big proportion of customers and will

introduce my product as a unique, delicious and healthy snack. As the business

continues serving the public, we will promote our product for customers. We will provide

seminars and workshop for future employment. We aim to provide satisfaction through

maintaining quality product to serve the customersand we give them importance. And

we will also make a tarpulin and social media page to make our promotion better.
