LETTER OF CORRESPONDENCE

attending and seeking permission to conduct a research into your
company on how communication or the lack of proper communication in
the business department of Hoses and Fittings LTD affects or poses on
the future of the business and what are the possible solutions to this

TITLE

An investigation into the factors that affect communication in the


Operations Department at Hoses and Fittings LTD located in Kingston
St. Andrew
INTRODUCTION

This School Based Assessment (SBA) is based on an investigation into


the factors that affect communication in the Operations Department at
Hoses and Fittings LTD in Kingston St. Andrew. This research was
conducted to investigate the major factors that affects the
channels of communication in the Company, the effects of proper
communication and what it may pose on the future of the business and
what are the possible solutions to this problem.Therefore the researcher
chose to conduct a survey to gather such information.

AIMS

To find out:
● What are the major factors that affects the channels of
communication in the OperationsDepartment at Hoses and Fittings
LTD?
● What are effects of lacking proper communication in the operations
department of Hoses and Fittings LTD?

FUNCTIONS

Ensures that equipment, tools and machineries are well maintained,


Fixed and moved around Properly when necessary.

Maintains stock control


Rebuild hoses

METHODOLOGY
Here is where I met with the supervisor who introduced me to the staff
members and then began my investigation.

Questionnaires were later given out to gather information. The


questionnaire assisted me in gathering information. Each person was given
a questionnaire that should be completed and returned.

REGULATION
The business area of Hoses and Fittings LTD was properly ventilated
And there were a few emergency exits in the area. The company also set
policies on dress code and behavior of its staff. These regulations/Laws
were brought to my attention while carrying out this interview with the
employees.

REPORT

The major findings or accomplishment that were found in this research


were; the company uses its way of communication to organize promotional
activities, manage and gain better marketing strategies, advertise, budget,
and Liaising with other departments. I also found out that the company
strives to build long term relationships with its customers and to respond to
as many complaints and enquiries of its customers.

Some of the problems that I encountered while doing this research are as
follows:

● Some employees were not able to answer the questions because of


late comings and other misfortunes.
● Because of confidentiality some information was withheld resulting in
inadequate information.
● Some employees hesitated because of their workload
